This. Chinatown Wars is one of the best games on the DS (definitely a top five game), hugely underrated because it's a top-down game that was released when top-down games weren't popular. It's an amazing game, which I highly suggest picking up. It's completely different from GTA IV in all aspects.

It's a fun game to play when you're not at your console and are on the go.

I would recommend getting it if you own the GTA IV, because it is a totally different experience. I played both games and if I didn't I would probably get both of them anyway at some point, it is just something not worth missing if you're already thinking about it.

Wait, I don't even know how the comparison can be made. How are the games connected? I don't have Chinatown Wars yet, but from what I can tell from videos I've seen of the gameplay and what I've heard from others, GTA4 and Chinatown Wars are two games that are quite different.

It's definitely a worthy addition to your game. I think you should definitely play it. Give it a go. You are going to love it.

Just as any other GTA game, most certainly worth buying. Sure, it may not be your traditional GTA experience you get on home consoles, but it's still fun! Top down really works, and I consider it one of the better games in it's genre on the NDS and PSP.

Haha yea in my oppinion you can't really compare them because they are completely different in many aspects (most prominently the top down view). Even if you liked GTA 4 you might not like Chinatown Wars and vice versa.

This is like the only GTA that I have never played or watched anyone playing. I always thought it was not really major because the developers didn't seem to promote it much nor did they create a pc version. I mostly game on pc so if they had created one for it then maybe I would have played it.

They are two very different games, but it is a good perspective of GTA and even a throwback to the older GTA games. Chinatown has its own good aspects, but I would prefer GTA IV because I love immersion and would put it over anything else.

The topdown perspective is really a toungue in cheek throwback to the older games in the series. I only played on a friend's DS and it seems pretty interesting but since I am a PC player usually, I would prefer GTA IV if I were you, but since I personally played it I would choose something else.

Definitely, it's a nice change from recent GTA titles, and a great throwback to the original GTA titles. The unique game mechanics due to it being a touch based game are also cool features. I'd give it a try if you can spare a few bucks!

Chinatown Wars is different from IV. So I would say it's worth the purchase since you're not playing another version of the same game. I mean it is but it's a fairly different to IV.

You should get this just to try it out. It is way different than other GTA games since it is different than the other GTA games. This game is a overhead view type of game. I didn't like it because of the overview camera.

Well they are completely different types of games on different platforms. I would play IV when I was home and Chinatown when I'm out on my phone or whatever. It's not as good in my opinion, but still fun!

I wasn't a huge fan of Chinatown Wars. I mean, the game was fine and you can definitely get a few hours of fun out of it. Otherwise, it's a throwaway title that didn't need to be made. It's not as strong as main titles for obvious reasons.

The difference isn't that much, just subtle nuances here and there, but it still is as good as the other GTA games.

Before I play this game, I watched some gameplay videos of GTA so that I can get an idea of this game. And when I played it, I was not disappointed because it is a great game to play. Definitely recommended to play this game.

It depends on what you think of the game, to be fair. Grand Theft Auto IV is completely different to Chinatown so it doesn't really matter whether or not you like Grand Theft Auto IV. The thing for me is that Chinatown just wasn't the best Grand Theft Auto title. There are other games from the GTA series that were much better. Once you have tried Grand Theft Auto IV, I just doubt that you would like to play Chinatown.
