Out of all the Grand Theft Auto games, which did you feel had the best soundtrack. Personally I was a fan of the San Andreas soundtrack, since I'm a hugh fan of music from the 90s.
GTA Vice City has the best OST ever in my opinion, some of the hits there were so awesome while you were doing the missions, I think it was the only GTA where I kept a close atention to every music I heard in the game.
The original GTA had a fantastic soundtrack, I get it out every now and again to listen to. But as far as I know, GTA was the first game to feature music that only came on when you actually got into the car. It's probably a large part of the games' success actually - compare it to something like the Driver series, which is pretty much the same thing. That and the ability to run people over of course. I guess GTA followed on from Carmaggedon which came out in 1997, although the first GTA was released in the same year, I seem to recall Carmaggedon was in development for ages. Carmaggedon had the idea of running people over for fun and points. I'd like to see some more Carmaggedon-style trick points and Tony Hawks style combo points in GTA.
This is a tough one, considering I discover plenty of new songs with each entry, but I'm going to have to say GTA IV for me. In my view, it had the largest variety of music and was even able to buy a few songs from the artists that were featured. I just wished that there was a way to listen to the music out of a car, since most of the time, the only music you hear are the radio stations that you can listen to while driving.
I absolutely love the soundtrack for Vice City. Don't get me wrong, I love the San Andreas soundtrack too but the 80s songs of Vice City swing it for me. Cruising around in the rain listening to Wave 103 and Emotion is so relaxing. Flying a plane in San Andreas while listening to Free Bird is just as good though.
I love the soundtrack in IV I feel it has the largest diversity of music after that I think I would go with Vice City I love old school music as well!
I think the San Andreas sound-track was best. I love 90s music and the Radio Los Santos seemed like a real Las Vegas Pop radio channel.
The GTA V has the best soundtrack and San Andreas has the best radio station music . Liberty City also has some good music, but the average quality is bad.
Vice City was my favourite soundtrack. I can't help but feeling they've been rather weak since GTA4. Probably because they expect us to import our own music.
For the music, it was San Andreas, as I'm also a 90's fan. But what on earth could beat Chatterbox and lazlow from GTA3

GTA always had a good music in it. "Rockstar" really know what they are doing when it comes to the music. To me, the best one is still Vice City. It even had "2 Minutes to Midnight" from Iron Maiden, and they used to be my favorite band. Nothing beats that, at least not yet. Will see in the future.
I am not really sure that I noticed that much of a difference, but that is probably because I tend to do my own thing with the sound if I am just playing for no reason. Vice City jumps out, but I am not really sure..
The soundtrack of all versions GTA is amazing but when you ask about the top choice it is GTA San Andreas. I really like its music and it makes me to play this game more and more.
I liked the soundtrack in Vice City the most. Most of the songs there I like and I'm also familiar with, and I also got to discover some good 80's songs.
Kudos to the team in charge of choosing the soundtracks for the game because I don't think one Grand Theft auto title has had a bad soundtrack. The original music created for certain situations are great and the soundtrack for the different radio stations are amazing. It's amazing how they include a diverse amount of radios so that everyone has something they like to listen to. Personally I thought GTA IV had the best soundtrack.
