In a Digital Bros press release, Kunos Simulazioni announced that Assetto Corsa 2 is now scheduled for Summer 2024. The studio aims to release Assetto Corsa 2 in the next fiscal year ending July 2024, which should be in June or July. The second edition was originally scheduled for an early spring release. The PC version of Assetto Corsa 2 will launch in Early Access on Steam in Summer 2024, and the console version will follow later. This will be the first Steam Early Access launch, so the final release may not be until later in 2024 or 2025. As far as game consoles are concerned, a Digital Bros financial report confirmed “long term” plans for an Assetto Corsa 2 console release, but no release window was announced. Currently, we know only that Assetto Corsa 2 uses its own engine instead of Unreal Engine like its predecessor. This makes sense considering the performance issues with EA Sports WRC when it was powered by Unreal Engine. Kunos Simulazioni Assetto Corsa 2 will have a much wider variety than Assetto Corsa Competizione, which focuses exclusively on cars in the GT World Challenge. With a Summer 2024 release date in mind, a trailer will be unveiled early next year for Assetto Corsa 2.
