And this is probably the reason why more people will be switching to PC gaming. The VR headsets that will provide a more immersive VR experience will need hardware powerful enough to support Virtual Reality. That's probably one reason why Microsoft is unifying their gaming platform. They won't lose gamers who stop playing on consoles because they prefer VR games.
VR is going to be super cool, especially for racing games but I have to wonder how many people are going to switch to PC because of VR? It's a pretty hefty investment when you combine the required specs to run VR with the cost of a headset.
They may have no choice because consoles if they are going to pack the same processing power a powerful PC does, they'll have to be very expensive or if they aren't being improved that much, console gamers will have to make-do with less than perfect VR.
