My first GTA game was Vice City and I loved it (as do many others I guess), but San Andreas was an upgrade on all fronts and much better. I loved the gang wars, being able to control your hood and gain money was a really cool game mechanic. When GTA 4 came out I was a little disappointed, couldnt quite get into it sadly... Can't say much about GTA 5 as i have not played it yet, but looking forward to it as soon as it hits PC .
San Andreas. I loved that game and still play it to this day. Says a lot about a game when you have so many that you play and beat and toss to the side. I have played for years and have yet to get bored with it. To me that makes a great game.
San Andreas was by far my favorite too with the great storyline. Crooked cop and a gang member who was your closest but had his own intentions. Skills that you had to build up on and use throughout the game.
Before GTA V my favorite was GTA SA.... since then I've changed to liking GTA V more because you can buy cars and Helicopters.... in the previous games the only way of obtaining them was stealing... since I'm a role player I enjoy the option of buying vehicles.
GTA:SA was my favorite until GTA IV came along. Even then I still prefer IV over V due to the atmosphere, setting, and story. While some may find it gloomy or dark I thought R* told an amazing story with the character of Bellic and everyone around him. I like all the additions that the newer games have brought to the series but GTA:SA was the game that floored me. Vice City was a nice upgrade from 3 but it wasn't the monstrosity that SA was when it was first released. Now the newer games have dwarfed the map size and content but I still have a fondness for SA. But IV looks to be my favorite unless something big happens with the next-gen V release
Actually "Grand Theft Auto 5" is my favorite game. Even though I like "Grand Theft Auto San Andres" I just feel its not as open world as "Grand Theft Auto 5." CJ is a funny character to. I like how you can play with three characters instead of just one like on "Grand Theft Auto San Andreas." "Grand Theft Auto San Andreas" does have a very good storyline. I like the mission where you chase down the cop who killed Carl's mother. He gets what he deserves. I also like the mission where you fly a helicopter for that nerdy guy.
Even though it is the one I have played the most so my opinion might be a little biased, I definitely loved San Andreas and in my book it is going to be the best installment in the franchise.
I do agree, San Andreas is one of the best games out there developed by Rock Star. I actually don't really mind about the graphics even though they were a bit tame for its time, but you really can't argue with the fun game play and of course the huge map. I've heard from a lot of people that they think the PC version is the best though. Is that true?
Though San Andreas was a good game, I didn't really like it that much. I'd say that Vice City is the best in the series, followed by GTA:IV. San Andreas is not really my kind of thing. I enjoyed playing it, though.
It is with no doubt Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. It has really versatile gameplay and you can either do missions, mess auround with cops or just drive around like a maniac listening to good music on the radio. In my opinion those side missions such as driving truck makes San andreas really good since there is always something to do.
