What's the character you still remember from that game? For me, it's Big Smoke. But there were other very good characters too in that game, so I'm curious to see what all of you think.
The last time I played that game was last 2013, so I couldn't remember much anymore, aside from CJ and that Black, obese guy, lol. And the old man in the mission where I have to steal something from him while he's sleeping.
The last time I played this game was a few months ago, haha, and I can perfectly recall having admired CJ's brother, although mostly absent throughout the storyline. I don't know... you might say he didn't have a lot to contribute, but there was something to the guy I can't describe.
I think it was the Truth as you have to save his crops so the cops don't raid him and then drive his van which is quite old, and funny how Carl is annoyed by the Truth smoking and also it runs in 15 year old cooking oil which is amazing. I also liked Big Smoke but it is sad he betrayed you as he seemed like a father figure to Carl, and was best friends with him to the time the green sabre mission which was a sad time in the game. I enjoyed Cesar as he was friendly and also he was a good friend, and also a brother in law as he was helping the family and would of made his mother in law proud.
Catalina is my favorite. CJ's reactions during sex with her were pretty funny. She is the craziest character in the game. Then she went away with Claude. She called CJ after you finish the missions while she was having sex with Claude. SHE CRAZY!!
Probably Big Smoke. Right off the bat, he's the coolest guy in the game with the funniest moments such as the drive-through mission. Too bad he turns out to be a backstabber and you have to kill him at the end of the game.
For me I'm going to have to agree and say it's definitely big smoke. He is the character that stands out the most apart from CJ of course, although I was a little disappointed at how he ended up. I thought he could have contributed a bit more to the game, and I hated the twist that a so called close friend turned out to be the bag guy.
The most memorable character in the game is definitely Big Smoke; he had such a dramatic, dynamic role. At first he was like a mentor. He supported CJ and tried to get him back to his prime. Then he became a major antagonist for the rest of the game. A character like that leaves a huge impact (no fat pun intended). A close second for me is Woozie. The reason is not because of the influence he had in the story; it's because of his character concept. He is the blind ruler of the Triad, owner of a grand casino, and has a very Zen persona. He also has the capability to compete in street races and beat you in a video game despite being blind. He was easily one of my favorite characters in the game.
Smoke also sticks in my head, but not because of any of your reasons. He is memorable simply because he has the worst AI in the train chasing mission, and after you fail he says “All we had to do was follow the damn Train, CJ!” As if his poor aim had nothing to do with the failure of the mission.
"all we had to do was follow the damn train CJ" as probably become one of the classic lines of any game in history! I don't think I know anybody who managed to complete that mission after just 1 or 2 attempts, and I bet Rockstar loved the fact that everyone was struggling so much, and it wasn't even that far on in the game as far as I remember
I really don't remember any character, It's been ages since I played the game. CJ I still remember though...
I still play the game and I personally think that the most memorable player in the game was and will always be Cesar Vialpando because he was the only one who cared about CJ and Grove street itself even when he was not even part of the gang, he was the most OG guy in the whole storyline, thumbs up for Cesar!
I think it might be a bit harsh to say that nobody cared about CJ and Grove Street apart from Cesar, but I do kind of guess we're you're coming from having played the game about a million times. Gta SA for me is still the most detailed game of the series, especially when it comes to the characters and the storylines involved.
Big Smoke for sure. The twist with him is a right kick in the teeth. The character fitted in perfectly with his size and attitude, 90s black hood movies set round the time always had a guy like him in (they don't always betray though)
Officer Tenpenny is the most memorable one for me. Not because he was cool, but because he was such a complete jerk. The hate and satisfaction I felt when I finally got to kill him is what makes me remember him the most.
Woozie and Mr. Ran Fa Li. I know he comes up in a few missions, but his form of communicating gets me every time! Grunt here, grunt there. No words spoken. Enough said.
I like Wu Zi Mu. He's like the bro you never had. He always has your back, and he always stuck around to give you a helping hand when you need it. It's actually one of CJ's more healthy bonds, as they both help each other with their problems and don't have that "feel" of someone stabbing the other in the back, unlike CJ's other alliances.
