Me too actually, to be completely honest. Eventually they will run out of ideas in rehashing the same titles over and over and probably end up mixing with other titles. I can't wait and I hope they make good games out of it.
Huh, a kingdom heart version of Mario kart eh? That would actually be really cool, but at this point I don't have much trust in Nintendo to pull it off right. Coupled with also my lack of trust in Disney for Star Wars atm (didn't really like both episode 7 and Battefront) I'd be pretty skeptical on whether they would actually be able to pull it off. Still, I can have hope.
Super Smash Brothers is a good example of the Nintendo universe coming together. I'm trying to think of other cases of it. I always love seeing different characters of a universe collide. Marvel and DC have done that well with their movies.
That's true I almost totally forgot about that. I think this would be a great gateway where they can introduce foreign characters into their universe though I think it might take a while since they seem to want to keep to themselves for the most part. The most I've seen of Nintendo integrating foreign elements is when they added Mercedes to their kart games DLC.
The Nintendo universe is large enough where it can sustain itself without introducing a bunch of new characters. They probably like having creative control over the characters. They might lose that if they start licensing characters from outside Nintendo.
Yeah good point. I suppose Lego has less to worry about since they don't have to think about how it will affect their own characters since they have none. Still, many other titles have done crossovers successfully so I'm hopeful they will budge someday.
Nintendo charactes, imo, are recognizable enough that they can stand their own ground, even when paired with other characters. For example in Brawl, Solid Snake was a playable character and he fit right in with the rest of Nintendo's crew. Having some star wars characters show up next smash game, if done right, would work just as well and would be a great advertising tool.
It would be pretty cool to have the millennium falcon and the x-wing fighters in Mario Kart. I guess they wouldn't be karts though lol. It would be a different dynamic with flying crafts as opposed to karts.
Yeah I think this would be great. They could maybe make a variation of it for hovering karts or something and maybe then they could even include the Delorian.
You're right I've forgotten that they already have done something like this before in SSB. I'd sure love to see more so hopefully in the future they'll do more of it. I agree that the Nintendo characters are very unique and recognizable enough that they can hold their own among other foreign ones.
How much money do we need to throw at them? How much? Imagine how cool would it be if Star Wars and Mario combined to make a game, arrrrgh!

Someone has a lot of time on their hands. I wonder if they could do a star trek version will all the different enterprises over the decades. Hell throw in a few birds of prey and you can have the trekkies wetting their pants.
It would be interesting to give it a shot but I don't think that any official news is released by the developers. We need to wait till it gets released.
I would also check it out. I am just waiting for the release. It should be released soon (maybe months later).
