I would tell him that GTA V is a game where you can pretty much do anything. Aside from the main campaign story you can have endless amounts of fun playing heists and games online, so if he would like to wind down after work for a bit he should definitely hop on!
What types of things does he like doing in real life? Show him how much fun driving cars are on GTA and when you give him a go he'll get hooked. I mean you tennis and even golf on Grand Theft Auto V so most things that he enjoys doing will most likely be on GTA V as a mini game or activity.

I'd say just get him started into one of the GTA like vice city, san andreas. And show him the walkthrough. I am sure he is going to enjoy it and going to play it. It depends on how he loved those games there. I personally like those games.
Sart by explaining to him the most b interesting part of GTA. And also make him understand that the game is simple to play and requires less effort. Lastly, purchase for him a laptop!
I would say just explain the gameplay to it and show it too him and then just give him a chance to play it for himself.
