Although Forza Horizon 5 had a rough start, Playground Games has made great strides to turn things around, and players keep coming back week after week for new playlists, races, challenges, and cars to unlock and complete.

It's possible that Forza Horizon 6 will follow the trend started in Forza Horizon 4 and carried over into Forza Horizon 5, where you compete as the same character in each festival. However, it may also take a fresh direction.

After former Forza Horizon creative director Mike Brown left Playground Games to start Maverick Games in 2023, the Horizon series may take a new direction from Forza Horizon 6. A new story mode or feature set for Forza Horizon 6 could bring back an antagonist similar to that of Forza Horizon's original or soft reboot of the series.

It would also be beneficial for FH5 players to carry forward their progress from Forza Horizon 4. However, this would remove the sense of progression many were looking for, so adding some grind would be welcome.

In the past few years, the Horizon Festival has traveled to the USA, Europe, Australia, the UK, and now Mexico. Rumors of Forza Horizon 6's next location have been swirling, but Japan has remained unseen.

The Japanese drift scene is known worldwide and the country is a great venue for celebrating car culture. Home to Honda, Nissan, and Toyota, the Horizon Festival would have a wide range of gameplay options.
