I may be a little biased because I grew up on Super Nintendo, but I think that any Super Mario Brothers games were pretty educational to me. They helped me learn how to dive into sewer holes and how to stomp on mushrooms. Also, that collecting coins is important!

The kids in my family love playing educational games on my tablet so I always make sure I have lots loaded up. I think even when apps aren't necessarily educational on the surface they still provide some value to kids who are just learning.

This is a good suggestion, I would also suggest Duolingo if you want to teach your kid a new language. Easy to use and you can learn really fast.

I think teaching kids another language is great. Good suggestion thanks. At that stage I found it much easier to pick up a new language so it's definitely the best time to do it.

I feel like the subconcious mind is much more active when you're younger, thus making learning easier. It's a double-edged sword though, since a kid can also learn bad habits that way.

That's true. We have a lot of kids in our family and they all love playing on tablets and I can't help but feel confused as to where to draw the line since it feels like they are learning a lot but at the same time I worry they are getting addicted or something lol.
