Has anyone here ever tried this? This was all I've played for a few months some time ago. City Car Driving is a very good driving simulator. Even with a normal keyboard, you have to use a clutch and select gears. This means you can't just press the "shift" button and shift up, you have to hold the clutch and select which gear you want. It's quite good and realistic. For example, if you are waiting at a red light, and you are in first gear, your engine will stall if you don't hold the clutch in. Just, go check it out if you are interested, it's really good. Also, there are TONS of car mods available. Any car that comes to your mind, you can add it and drive it in the game, seriously. Here's a video of it:
Well this could be interesting. How realistic is it? It would be cool if it could actually help people learn how to drive, with handling/braking/speed similar to real life driving.
I've just been looking for some good driving simulators and I find your thread. I've been looking for a driving simulator for some time, but I never found the time to do real research into the games to find out which is worth to play. The video doesn't look too bad, so I might get it soon. Thanks for the recommendation.
That looks great. Since I have a wheel at the ready and will be starting to learn driving soon, this might be great. Can't imagine how immersive these games might be using an oculus rift.
It is quite realistic, honestly. It *could* help people learn how to drive, but I don't think you can learn more than basics from the game, honestly. Thing I like about it is that you can set in the options (if you have a wheel you don't have to set anything, you just press harder or lighter) if you want a small amount of throttle, medium, full or whatever. I never use full throttle in this game, I only use about half. Especially because when you press shift, that floors the pedal. It is a bit realistic because there are actual clutch controls and you need to figure out how it works, in order for your car not to stall all the time. I'd recommend all of you to check it out, I think there is a trial tho, I am not sure.
Ha, this looks interesting. Not in the sense of intense racing. But in a sense of driving Mrs. Daisy. I'm somehow tickled with the idea of simply doing my daily commute in a car I don't own.
It's seems nice, with a lot of positive reviews on youtube and fun reactions on glitches. I'll try it and see how much it compares to a real car .
The game is quite realistic, and I love it for that. Example, it's a *bit* of a challenge to park on a hill, and then start driving again. Your engine will stall a lot, when you try doing this. There are a few hill traffic lights in the city, and I always want to find them, because I love doing that. I don't know why, it just gives me some sort of satisfaction. Try the game out, it's quite good. Did anyone check if there's a trial?
I have this game and I love it. It really teaches you how to drive a car in real life. The driving missions are very realistic and you learn some things along the way. Such things may be hill starts, parking, obeying various signs, and driving quickly in tight spaces. To me this is the best simulator for driving cars. I also play Euro Truck Simulator when I want to drive the semi trucks and drive cargo.
Do you use any car mods, Sterling? If you do, which ones are your favorite? When I was playing this, the first car I had to mod in my game was the Golf GTI. Since I own an actual Golf, which isn't a GTI sadly. But hey, at least I can pretend it is.
The song that is playing in the car Is that really in the game. Honestly though from the looks of it I would that this game looks really interesting and I think that later when I get home from work that I will take some time to take a look at it.
Having tried it I have to say it reminds me a lot of the simulator I used in driving school. Honestly if the graphics were a little better I think that this could sell very well.
I'll probably try it. Hell, if a game has a car or bike in it, is enough to get my attention. First thing on the agenda: running the red light and crash into incoming traffic to create mayhem. That's always fun .
@teabwoi The song isn't in the game, the uploader added it in a video editing software. The game, sadly, has no type of radio or any music whatsoever. That doesn't mean you can't, of course, turn on some radio, playlist or a song to listen while playing the game. That's how I always played this game, radio playing in background. Did you try the game out? How do you like it, if you did? @jetliposting Have you tried it? It's satisfying to drive at insanely high speeds and crash and avoid the incoming traffic, definitely try that. The game has no bikes in it, as far as I know, but there are tons of car mods that you can add. Got a favorite car? You can probably get it added to your game.
I heard of it before, and I really want to try it out, but I don't have the cash to buy the game. Anyone know where I can get the game for free maybe?
Well, the only place you can get the game free at are torrents. Pirating is the only way to get the game free. If you want to do that, and have nothing against piracy, then who am I to judge you or stop you. If you want to pirate it, then pirate it. It's a good game and it's worth paying for.
This is extremely interesting! When you're out of first person point of view, it doesn't look realistic. However, when you go into first person, it feels like you're in the car actually driving! I like the fact that they have all the gauges and such that you would see in the car and the radio playing, as well. The only thing I would like to see added is your hands on the wheel. It just feels completely disconnected when you don't seen someone handling the wheel.
that's pretty cool, i wish I had a wheel to try it out on with how much realism they've attempted to put into that game.
