Have you played all of them and have there been any new releases lately? I think I played all of them when it was on the first PlayStation and on the PlayStation 2. I haven't played in so long, though. It was probably one of my favorite games. And sadly, Lara Croft was like my first video game girl crush. Pathetic! lol
I've played all of the Tomb Raider games. The most recent game was a remastered version for the Xbox One and PS4, featuring a younger Lara Croft. It was fantastic.
I haven't played all of them. The oldest one I've played was Tomb Raider The Last Revelation for Dreamcast and the newest one I've played was Tomb Raiser for Xbox 360. There's a definitive edition coming out for XBox One that has upgraded graphics and all the DLC.
Tomb Raider for the PS3, the reboot, is a pretty solid game. I thought that the character herself and the environment around her were well done but the problem was the story. I wasn't engaged or particularly interested into the story. The game itself was pretty fun to play game, no doubt. However, I wanted some more especially with the first impression impressing me so much with the excellent voice acting and the graphics.
Tomb Raider was a mediocre game at best focusing too much on sexuality rather than quality. The last game of the series changed it for the good though. I for one have played all of them, but never fished most of them as they were a bit boring after a while.
I was happy when they reduced her cup size in the Playstation 2 version. There's no way in hell a woman with such big breasts can leap and bound over boulders and cliffs. I'm sorry, it's just not realistic. She'd snap in half. I like the Playstation 2 version because there was less focus on her body and more on the game itself. I've always focused on the game but I'm sure if I were a dude I'd be making her do other things.
I played them all except for the spin-off over the top temple series I cant really get into them. I remember playing them on my old PC and having my mind blown as I saw this chick be such a badass dual wielding pistols killing everything on site and jumping all over the place. Those were great times especially when the Playstation versions of the games came out.
I got to play the most recent one on PS3 and I was impressed with it even though I wasn't that much of a fan of the violence. I think it was more there just for shock value and served no purpose but it was still enjoyable nonetheless. Also I thought it was a good mix of the traditional gameplay while still mixing in lots of new elements.
The new one is crap. And the PS4 version looks worse than the non remastered PC version, but whatever floats your boat. I found that turning a game that focused on good level and art design and great mechanics to an uncharted clone to be a stupid idea. Good thing the old games are still there so you can ignore the new one safely.
There will be a new Tomb Raider release. It will be a timed exclusive for the XBox One which is due for release in 2015. It will be called Rise of the Tomb Raider. I haven't played all Tomb Raider games but from what I've played, I could say that the series is pretty darn good. Especially the reboot on the PS3.
I haven't played in awhile, but I was a big fan of tomb raider. I played it on the old ps1, ps2, and the PC. It's been well over 10 years since I played Tomb raider.
I agree even though Im a huge uncharted fan I liked Tomb Raider for what it was. Even though some of the added features they copied from uncharted are nice touches the series need to help bring it into the new era. With that said I dont like the complete copy and paste mentality that almost took away everything from Tomb Raider that set it apart. The open world like feel at the end was nice and gave a a good sense of exploration and variety I still think the game needed many more puzzles and stronger story. Here hoping the second version fixes these issues and moves the series in a better direction.
It did feel different to me too after a while but I was impressed that they still retained the feel of the puzzles. I hope the next one goes back to the old formula though.
Not really the biggest fan of the franchise, though I liked the latest one. I remember buying Tomb Raider games when I was younger and playing them everyday, not so much anymore.
Yeah I mostly only played with the first two but afterwards I got a bit tired of it. However, at this point I already kind of miss it again so I wouldn't be too opposed to just seeing a. Modern version carbon copy.
I disagree, but we're all free to have our opinion. Tomb Raider is a well done game, formerly made by Eidos, now taken up by Square Enix. The Tomb Raider games made by Square Enix are good, but Eidos started the series, made the foundation of its mechanics and the type character Lara Croft is. Square Enix isn't exactly overhauling it, but still, I'm waiting for them to cut back to modern day Lara. To go back to her being a double pistol wielding gunner girl, who excavates treasures.
I've never played any of the original Tomb Raider games, but when it came out on Xbox 360 I ended up falling in love with this game. Now I would do anything to have an Xbox One and play Rise of the Tomb Raider. Lara Craft is such an awesome warrior. The graphics on the Xbox 360 version blew me away. Everything was so detailed and the action was pure intensity.
Those triangle boobies, LOL. I loved the TR games back in the day, but not just because of the eye candy...there was a real sense of exploration and danger, and needing to use your reflexes as well as your brain to advance. I'm saddened the series hasn't been selling as well as it could be, lately, though.
Tomb Raider and Rise of the Tomb Raider have been a bit more gritty, but you can't escape the fanservice factor. I'm not too bummed about it anyway.
I played the newest version and it was fun but I felt the same way as it felt to me like it was just a rehash that's technically better but lacks the charm of the first few games. I chalked it up to nostalgia but I guess it also is probably because a lot of modern games are a bit too polished. I also disliked the element of violence as I saw it mostly just as a gimmick that didn't add much to the enjoyment.
