If Ubisoft's past record are anything to go buy, this game will be playable for a couple of hours and worst. They are not going to deliver half-ass-ed game for sure.

Well, you can never go by any company's record. After all, you're only as good as your last project.

But with that said, yes it's not like they're EA for example, who put out half working games with almost every big release of theirs.

I think people will still be talking about the crew maybe 2 years from now. The wide expanse of area to cover with the plethora of customization options and the social aspect of it will make it last for a long time.

The life of a car game is dependent on the person playing it, like a FPS, people play it for forever if its something they enjoy (There are still people playing Unreal Tournament, facing worlds maps and thats been over 15+ years I think). Far as the Crew, as long as Ubisoft doesn't introduce some serious pay to win content that kills any form of competitive ladder rankings, it should be fine as a game to just jump in and drive around in and have some races with friends but we really won't know until its out.

The Crew will be around for a while. If my TV was bigger it would be a must buy but I'll get it when it's cheaper. I was in the closed beta for the past few days and I think it was decent. But not a game changer in the racing genre.

The social aspect of MMOs is very strong. People tend to stick around even if they're a bit bored of the game, since they can hang out with their online friends.

As many of you pointed out, if done properly, it can last for a very long time, especially if you have a wide range of things to choose from. I mean, take for example Skyrim (not a racing game, true, but it is one which is done excellently). After 200 hours of playing, I still haven't given up.

One thing which definitely contributes to this is the brand - Ubisoft is excellent at delivering quality products. I have played many games by Ubisoft and I am yet to be disappointed. Even back in 2000, they were great (Tom and Jerry, anyone?).

An MMO can last indefinitely, as evidenced as WoW. It's been around forever it seems. However, The Crew specifically probably won't last that long. I don't see it having the longevity factor on its side, to be honest.

By pictures alone I would give this game a thumbs up. The graphics look good. People keep saying not enough content, but it looks like the entire map of the United States (if not a cartoonish-looking view of it). But can we realistically expect a racing game to have a variety of things to do except racing? I can take or leave most racing games, so for me more content with the drivers would be thing. A storyline where I could do mini-missions without the car would appeal to me and probably other people that aren't completely sold on exclusively racing games.

It definitely has potential, just like any other game, if people jump out to get it and they play it a lot, sure. I would expect The Crew to get a redo or features if said actions happened.

I agree with most people here. It will last for quite a bit of time because it just seems amazing being able to drive across the country without loading times and the map being so dang big. I would give it 3-5 years on the console side because it would be one of the only games to do that and I would say racing games are better on controller than keyboard (unless you have a racing wheel).
They can keep it alive if they constantly add more content often like I would say every 2-3 months to keep some of it fresh. I personally cant wait for this game to come out but I just hope it doesn't get screwed up at all.

I think it will just last about 2 years. Since there are many racing games releasing this and next year so it will be a competition between the games.
