Everyone knows painting flames on a car makes it go faster. That’s just science. And you’ll be able to get that bonus speedboost in World of Speed.

Slightly Mad Studios released new screenshots that show off the visual customization options in its upcoming free-to-play MMORPG Racer. And although just judging from these shots the options don’t look as extensive as the livery modes in the Forza series, there still seems to be plenty of room to pimp your ride and express your personality.

Slightly Mad said it will reveal more about the customization options soon. You can check the the game out for yourself by signing up for the PC beta here.

Check out the shots in the gallery below:

A little bit of customization never hurts, although it doesn't really set World of Speed apart from other racing games that offer the same capabilities.

It looks...uninspiring. Honestly, Need For Speed Underground was offering the same option over 10 years ago?!

I'm not a big fan of flame decals so I hope they offer more variety, and I'm sure they will since it is pretty much standard now. These don't appeal to me that much though.

Although customizing is amazing and I love having the ability to make it our own. I am not digging the flame decals however, but I was never a big fan of flame decals to begin with. This isn't a new customizing feature, almost every car game has the flame decals and I just feel like it is unoriginal and they can come up with way better decals and customization.

Let's see how custom they let you get. If it is just cookie cutter designs that is the same old thing. Honestly who cares about the customizing, is it a fun game?

Great to see customization in world of speed. I would like to see performance customization. I'm not big on visual customization like decals and such. I either have a solid color or some stripes.

I like customizing my car, but sometimes if I spend most of my time doing that instead of driving then I get bummed out. I'd rather have a cool course instead of spending all of my time making a cool looking car that I can't see because I am driving it.

Having some customization is always a nice thing to have. When playing any driving game you want to be able to do more. Being able to change things up on you car is always nice.

I'll thoroughly unimpressed with this. Definitely doesn't look like it'd be worth going crazy over. Flames? That's it? That's a pretty big let down. Customization options should far exceed this pitiful attempt. Would have been better off not even offering it.

Looks similar to Driveclub's visual customisation perhaps.

I've been wanting more customization in World of Speed, and they delivered! It's great to see more customization and features added to the game. Those designs you posted already look pretty sick.

It looks just like a regular AA game. No one can say that it's a free to play game until you actually hear about it. Pretty impressive from Slightly Mad Studios.

I hate the games that advertises free to play game, but in reality there's tons of micro transactions that make the game unplayable. I hope World of Speed won't be a game like that, they better make the game enjoyable without players spending money.
