After debuting on Apple iOS mobile devices in 2012, Anki Drive has finally become available to Android devices this week. The Anki Drive racing game allows you to use your mobile phone to command racing cars on a code-embedded track purchased from Anki Drive. An Anki Drive starter kit – which includes two cars, a tire cleaner, charging cases, a charger and race mat – costs $150 with expansion cars [there are seven overall] costing an extra $50 apiece. The smartphone apps required to operate the game are downloadable for free at the official Anki Drive site [below]. I can't exactly afford the accompanying equipment, but that's pretty interesting. I actually haven't heard of Anki Drive up until recently. If I had some extra cash, I would pick up the other accessories and then try it out, that's for sure.
I'm on the same boat. I haven't heard of this before but it definitely looks interesting. I think I'll be waiting for some more youtube videos of this and then see if I want to save up a bit to buy it. I used to love racing tracks when I was a kid, I guess this is kind of the same but more advanced!
I foresee this as being something really cool for dads to play with their sons/daughters around the age of 6-9. I'd love to have something like this, but I'm not dropping $150 on it.
Wow I've never even heard of is before. This would have been a really cool thing to have when I was a kid. Now not so much though, but that's probably only because I'm not too interested in car toys to begin with. Still very cool though.
I would love to try this one, looks pretty fun! I'm imagining all of my friends racing this cars around, and we would definitely use it for gambling too! hahaha
As someone who enjoyed playing with Hot Wheels as a child...all I can say is: absolutely amazing. Would love to see this become affordable for kids in the future to play with.
Like other people above me, I've never actually heard of Anki before. The racing games I play are almost never top down or isometric, so that might be why. Need for Speed and Asphalt have been getting old on my LG G3, so I guess I might give this a whirl and treat it as a throwback to the 16 bit racing era with updated graphics.
I have never heard of this before but I find it quite interesting actually. It has left me wondering why I have never heard of this before. Even though it is really cool, it is expensive and I don't have the money to get something like that. Very cool concept though and if I ever become rich I will make sure to get this. Growing up I would always play with racing tracks so the idea of this is great.
It's more like a top-down management game rather than a racing game. I am inclined to check it out now though.
Glad to see Anki Drive on Android now. I might buy it sometime in the future. Anki drive kind of makes a hybrid of a video game and real life that's why it intrigues me. I was kind of bummed out to see it launch only on ios, I thought it would never come to android. Now that it has, their going to get a surge of customers now that basically anybody can get it. Another great fact is that finally developers are paying more attention to android since its gaining more users.
Oh this is great! I was bummed after I saw it on ios and could not get it. This is a definite must have for me.
