I have a lot of ideas for video games. I'm just not sure how to get someone to listen or how to pitch it to someone. Does anyone have any ideas?

You'll want to get in contact with a smaller game studio, although you run the risk of having your idea stolen or ripped out from underneath you.

Oh my brother has a friend who makes video games. Maybe I should talk to him.

You could probably find the developer's email via their website, or if their game/developer website has a dedicated forum you could try that as well.

I don't think there is a way of going about this without your idea potentially getting stolen. The best way would probably be to find someone you could trust and partner up with, but you should also have an idea of how the whole game will end up looking or else it just puts the majority of the responsibility on the developer and thus would probably give him a lot more leverage over your original idea.

The best bet would be to document everything about how you want the game to be. Get a copyright or whatever you need to ensure that it is always yours unless you sell rights. Then you can set up a pitch you can give to the game studio.

Get your lawyers involved. Have everything documented. If you do actually have a sit down with a programmer then a confidentiality agreement is in order.

If you don't have any connections, it's going to be a difficult task to convey your idea to a programmer. You can keep trying to contact a game programmer through the social media accounts.

You could try to contact smaller gaming studios that might listen to the audiences or need insipration. It is hard to keep the idea from being stolen from you, but if you want to get the idea across to someone, then you could try it this way.

If this is a serious idea for a game and you're passionate about it, go to a publisher and pitch it. If this is just a "I want you to put this in that and it'll be awesome!" you can suggest that to a developer, like one of their social media guys. I'm sure they get a lot of ideas and suggestions from people, though, so don't get your hopes up for a response.
