Since Rivals has been out for a while, most people have probably finished all of the main events included in the game itself. Besides simply going back to try and get faster times on all of the events, there isn't all that much to do at this point. As a result, my friends and I have recently been playing around with creating our own custom events and challenges. Since there's no mechanic in the game to allow this, we just have to agree on set rules beforehand and try to complete the game in free roam. I'm sure this is no unique idea, so does anyone have any fun custom games that they like to play with their friends?

I'll list a few of the ones that we've played, most of which were based off of similar gametypes that existed in other games:
Manhunt: One person is assigned to be the "Hunted" while everyone else is a "Hunter". Everyone starts in a random location on the map and the Hunters try to wreck the Hunted within the time limit. The Hunter who wrecks the Hunted gains a point and becomes the next Hunted. If nobody catches the Hunted in the time limit, the Hunted gains a point and someone else is randomly selected to become the next Hunted.

VIP: Players are split into two even teams, Escorts and Attackers. One of the Escorts (the VIP) is forced to drive a slow, tough car (We used either the Dodge Charger or the Bentley Continental on the police side). The rest of the Escorts must help the VIP get to a designated location while the Attackers attempt to wreck the VIP.

Momentum: A simple point-to-point race with the single rule that all of the racers must not ever use their brakes or release the accelerator. We tried to make the routes as windy as possible to maximize chaos. U-turns are very difficult without just crashing and hoping you spawn facing the correct direction.

If anyone has suggestions as to how to improve these, feel free to chime in as well.

I would like to see the Canyon Race mode present in NFS Carbon reimplemented into the game. It was a pretty fun mode with an "Initial D" feel to it, and fits the concept of racing rivals very well.

Love the Manhunt idea. I think the Hunted should have some perks to get an edge over the mass numbers of Hunters.

My friends and I only form a group of three total actually, so "everyone else" ends up only being two people for us. As much as I'd love to get a larger group playing some of these modes, the 6-player limit in Rivals and the fact that I don't actually know a lot of people who play it hinders that. As for giving the Hunted some perks, I believe we usually had the Hunted driving a car that was one heat level above the Hunters' cars. Also, the fact that we all started in random locations definitely helped out the Hunted, since a lot of time is spent just trying to find them.

Another possibility I just thought of that could potentially make this gametype a little bit more of a "mass number of Hunters" versus a single Hunted would be to have the Hunters play as cops and the Hunted play as a racer so that once they initiate a pursuit, the AI police would also help them out. It might require a bit of balancing in terms of pursuit tech to make it fair though.

I have played the other modes with friends and, we have enjoyed seeing how far we can go in the game. The hunter one is great as having someone chasing the other, and trying to avoid them is amazing to do. I sometimes play the cop, and see how my friends try to outwit me and cause me to crash and avoid getting caught by me which is really good to do in the game. I think more hunters in the mode would be better, as you will have more to run after and at the same time they are trying to harm you.

Yep, that kind of reminds me of NFS Carbon as well when you were at max heat level, easily 10+ police on your tail. If those 10 cars were human players instead of computer controlled vehicles I think the Hunted would stand little chance without some perks on his side.
