Okay, yeah, it’s in French, but “Vroom, Vroom” is a universal language. The video by Dark_Alex goes through many of the options in the game, the process of customizing cars, an overview of the clubs and friends feature, and gameplay from some of the tracks. It’s a well-established fact that French people don’t care about NDAs. Even in this compressed video the game’s visual detail is obviously high, and the lighting effects are especially impressive. Near the end Dark_Alex tries out some night driving, and you see on-track light sources illuminate the inside of the cockpit while he drives by them. That attention to little details helps make Driveclub feel like a truly next generation title, at least visually. Driveclub launches Oct. 7 on PS4. Thanks Shwan fopr providin us wih the footage. It looks great, but not as good as some of the other racing games like Project Cars. I hope it's a good game.
After seeing the trailer for The Crew and this one, I think I will prefer The Crew bit more because this seems like more of a straight up racer whereas the Crew seems like it will have takedowns. It still looks great though and I'll still be checking it out once it releases and I'll still even probably buy it.
This looks really promising. The driving looks really realistic and has a lot of cool racing elements that give it a classic racing game feel. When it releases, if I find it to be better than The Crew (or at least the reviews), I'll be sure to check it out a bit more extensively.
The video makes the game look a lot more interesting than it actually is, if you ask me. I played and wasn't impressed. I'm not a huge critic of most games, but DriveClub hasn't hit the mark for me at all.
Yeah, I totally agree. Trailers are usually created so that the game is more appealing. Unfortunately, with all of the review that are mixed, it doesn't seem so great.
Good to know, and sometimes (particularly if the game itself is lack luster) that is kind of the point of a trailer. Thanks for sharing it though, French or not, and yes, some things are pretty universal .
That's sad to hear but you're not the first one to say so. I'm still going to check it out for myself though, I haven't really seen many people say the game is garbage. Perhaps it's good enough to at least have some fun for the first couple of months. Maybe even longer if they are planning on releasing some interesting DLC / patches.
Yeah, the release of the game itself was a disaster. Bugs, server problems for multiplayer, and more all ran rampant on release day. Even today, not everything is stable. I don't think I liked it much when I first played it. Maybe I'll give it a try in two months when everything has calmed down, but the gameplay itself was pretty bad in my opinion(except for the crashes).
I think the crew and driveclub are enemies and are competing against each other, well I already played the crew and it looked great on the trailer but it's just an okay game, let's see how this one turns out, hopefully better.
Thank you OP for sharing this with us. It looks awesome, but not as good as other racing games. As mauricioq said above, I'm sure that driveclub and the crew are enemies and they started a competition against each other, this is a good thing after all, this way we'll be sure they'll to their best to provide us quality games.
The Crew also looks amazing on the PC with 60fps / 3920p support, I don't think this footage particularly shows anything better. Gameplay wise, having tried The Crew beta, I am compelled to say that The Crew offers more features with an immersive open world experience and much more multiplayer options.
