Do you hate that tracks are used in Battle Mode?

Battle Mode on Mario Kart 8 is a very cool concept. It's also a very fun mode and could be a nice diversion when you don't feel like racing. However, I can't help but feel that Nintendo has rushed to make this mode in order to slap it in to the game. What makes me feel like it was rushed? That's because the mode also uses the tracks used in circuit mode. Well, that could have been okay if the tracks were divided into sections. They're just so darn big!

What do you think of the tracks used in battle mode?

I really think this killed battle mode, because you can't go back and forth between points of a map easily like you can in the earlier iterations of the game. Oldschool FPS games like Doom and Quake used the campaign maps to some degree as deathmatch maps, but the level design worked for it. Taking a similar approach with Mario Kart, where the tracks are mostly linear with a few alternating pathways that converge back together, doesn't work at all. I'd rather have Nintendo delay the game to set up a proper battle mode with its own maps, honestly.

I could agree with you. I just think that sometimes some of the tracks just feel to big especially for the battle mode I just think that they should have kept it like they did in the other Mario games where they focused on making the tracks just the right size for the battle modes you know.

I don't dislike them, I don't love them. I guess I don't really pay attention to whether they are not or not in battle mode.

It's been alright for me. It's certainly not as polished as the cups but I still find entertainment in them.

Yeah, they are a little too big for me as well. I got use to them pretty quick though, just kind of threw me off at first. I still like battle mode, but this was definitely one of the less favorable things about the game.

I never really liked battle mode, honestly, but using the regular tracks for it made me like it even less.
