I had planned to buy The Crew at first, when I first heard of it. I started getting discouraged from getting it when I saw that the map spanning the US was really just a few cities. After that, I checked it's page on steam, I saw that it was 60 dollars and was pretty sure I didn't want to get it. The final nail in the coffin was when I realized it had micro-transactions and Uplay, I just decided it wasn't worth it, micro-transactions in a paid game and Uplay are 2 of my most hated things. Are you buying The Crew?
The best part about the Crew is it's open world unlike in many other racing games. I was skeptical about it at first, but after playing the beta, I can say that I am sold on it. So yeah, I am going to give it a shot.
The Crew does look like a solid game and its MMO style gameplay means that it can become really huge. But I will wait for a while before buying it. I will watch gameplays from players who have bought the game and see if it is really worth it. If this game gets really popular then I want in on the action. And maybe later the prices may come down, especially if their micro transactions get going.
I'm planning on buying it but maybe later when they have lowered their prices a bit. I'm curious to play it but not enough that I can't wait to pay full price for it. I'd rather just wait for it to grow some more and build a solid following and of course get cheaper.
I don't think so no. Microtransactions are a big no no in my book. That is basically pay to win if you ask me instead of play to me. I wasn't very interested at first, but right now? I won't even bother looking at it.
I just saw their most recent trailer in the new section of this forum, and I'm kind of changing my mind about waiting. I think I'll probably try and get this game earlier than I initially wanted because judging from the trailer it looks like it will be really fun. I'd probably still wait for a few reviews first though.
I love multiplayer racing so naturally it spikes my interest. I'll check out some reviews and make my decision then.
I won't because my connection is awful and the game doesn't really interest me much anyway, though it does have some nice features...
I'm still not sure on this one, the features seem pretty cool though. I guess I just have to do some more research before i'm completely sold on it.
Wait a second, I just came back to this thread and I hadn't seen these comments mentioned the micro-transactions? I kinda glossed over the micro-transactions, I guess. Man I shouldn't be in forums when I'm sleepy. Anyway, does the game really have microtransactions? Of what kind? I wouldn't mind skins and visual crap like that, but anything that gives advantages to paying players is bullshit in a $60 game!
I got The Crew for free from Uplay, so I think I'm fine right now. I'll test it out some more and maybe let you guys know my thoughts.
Please do. I'm really interested in this game now and I'm excited to hear whether or not they really were able to marry MMO and racing together seamlessly, and also if there are minor qualms or praises of course.
Not sure. I played the beta and it wasn't great but it wasn't bad either, it was okay. Now, the full game can be better, which I doubt and it's still a okay game. The future will tell.
I'll probably wait until the game releases and check out some reviews and gameplay before I decide on buying it. I played the beta and I wasn't completely sold on it, something seemed off, but I can't put my finger on it. I'm sure they will improve it, but only time will tell how much.
I think I will buy it eventually but not on the day of the release. The game is looking good but I just don't have the money for it right now. I haven't had the chance to play the beta either but from what I see here people aren't as ecxited as I thought they would be so I guess I'll be waiting on a sale to get the game.
Keeping myself occupied with GTA and Forza. Will wait for all the reviews and the kinks to get out before considering buying it. Also waiting for my broadband contract to expire in a few months so that I can upgrade to a faster rate and be able to properly enjoy the Crew then.
I tried the beta and was pretty pleased! Although I probably won't be buying it immediately - going to wait for it to hit Steam and be discounted during Summer/Winter sale!
Does that mean it's not good enough to be worthy a pre-order or is it simply too expensive for you at this moment? I think the game looks fantastic but I haven't played the beta. Is it as good as the trailers or should I, too, wwait for a steam sale?
I'm definitely buying Driveclub, and I might buy the Crew later on. I'm not too big on open world racers except Burnout Paradise and GTA, but it's a novel and emerging idea that deserves at least a play or two in my book.
