Scribblenauts is a puzzle game, no big plot, no fancy graphics, but there's one very cool gimmick:
You get a magic notebook, and you get to summon almost ANYTHING at all to help you with your puzzle!

    Want a sword? Okay.
    Want a flamethrower? No problem?
Want to summon a dinosaur? Sure!
Ask God for help? Okie Dokie!

Seriously, this game is amazing. It proved to be pretty successful too, considering there's two or three sequels out already.

    Check out the gameplay:

I heard about this game and watched a gameplay video on it, but I never played it myself, well not yet. I might get this game in the near future, because it seems like I would enjoy this type of game. I like puzzle games and this game allows you to finish it with your own imagination which is great. Thank you for reminding me of it and because of this thread I will be able to play it (I totally forgot about this game until now).

Scribblenauts looks like a lot of fun. It lets you use your creativity and advance the game with your imagination in mind. I haven't gotten the game yet, but it looks like fun.

I have never played this game before, even though I had heard about it. I always thought it was some kids game. But now that I have seen the gameplay, its amazing how you can type and create the weapons and heroes you want. Sweet game, I will try it someday.

A lot of adult Youtube Let's Players play the game, I've noticed. They look like they're enjoying themselves. I, myself, am curious about it as well.

I wouldn't say it's a hidden gem. The later entries have gotten alot of attention as of late.

Not so much anymore... More realistic looking games have been in the spotlight as of late. Like GTA5, The Last of Us, Dead Island 2, Dead Rising 3, Watch Dogs, Assassins Creed: Unity, and more games like that have been in the spotlight. If Scribblenauts was on its way to becoming popular, it's been drastically halted.

Yeah, the bigger dogs have kind of taken over that spotlight huh?

Maybe because there hasn't been an entry in the Scribblenauts series since last Sepetember? All the games you mentioned are rather recent.

Anyway, I've only ever played the first title on my phone with Drastic. It's a fun game, but I don't get the whole buzz about it. Maybe I'm just an old fart who isn't creative enough to make cool solutions.

It would appear so. I guess they're seizing the opportunity to put their stuff out first on the next gen consoles. That's a surefire way for the famous game franchises to get their money.

It would seem so, which is crazy. What exactly are they doing with that money? It should be going to developing the next game or making merchandise for their popular games.

It is, but they games they are making are not making breaking even because people are losing interest in alot of these bigger games due to all these neat indie games coming out.

Wow, how is this game even real? They must have programmed all of the possibilities in and that is very impressive. I'll be checking this out and if it's really good it might even make me consider getting a DS. Thanks for sharing!

I became intrigued by scribblenauts when I saw Mega64 do a couple of hilarious ads for them. It would be cool to see scribblenauts come to other platforms.
