You know that the part of being a PC gamer is that you will have to keep up with the constantly demanding games. I for one am already pondering an upgrade. What about you?

Not yet, still got some juice in my current rig. For me it is usually a new graphics card that sets my mood for a new upgrade. But at the moment I can still run most games reasonably well so I will hold on to it., because I know just when I do there will always be something better. All the best with your upgrade, always feel amazing when a new one is brought home. For me every new one is becoming more silent than the previous, its a silent beast.

I'm considering an upgrade soon enough, but not for another year. I won't be able to play any games on my PC for half a year so it's not wise to upgrade it in any way, the hardware will get old in this six months. In my opinion it is better to wait until there is some new stuff out there and the old stuff isn't as expensive as it is now, so I'm doing that, waiting for the pices to drop or for something new.

I will but it will be closer to an overhaul since a lot of the parts are old and I also would like to change the case. Hopefully it wouldn't be too complicated or expensive.

It's going to be expensive mate. There is no beating around the bush! You know it's going to cost a lot when you are almost overhauling your rig.

I know and I am dreading it! It's okay though because I've at least gotten a good amount of use of the old setup so I'm okay with it.

No upgrades for me either. I've been waiting long to get myself one of the new machines, really powerful [and fast] machines on the market right now. Better to replace the old one I have rather than spend a lot on upgrades and have it die on me in a year or two.

For me, I intend to buy a new PC no matter how expensive it might be and I'm sure after that it will take at least three years before I start thinking about upgrades.

I actually just bought a new 970 and I7 and upgraded to Win 8.1.

I saved up for around a year, and it's probably the best thing I've done with money.

I can play BF4 at full settings without going down past 80 FPS.

Yup, I'm planning to upgrade the PC. Since there are many games that are required to have a high-end PC. And also my PC was bought mid 2011 so I really need to upgrade it.

I would love to upgrade my PC, but sadly it would be expensive and I'm not rich at the moment lol, maybe will start thinking about that after getting all of my Christmas presents (money), but it still depends on the amount I would get and what exactly I would want to upgrade.

I was initially planning to upgrade my PC, but I started to feel that it's a waste. Games are constantly upgrading with newer and newer graphics, making it harder and harder to keep up with. I don't like having to buy a new graphics card every other year or so just because a new game with nicer graphics comes out. Personally I'll probably just buy a gaming console instead, but that's just me.

I know what you mean. I've been wanting to get a high powered machine for some time now because I feel like I'm missing out on a lot of modern games and I also would like to use it for some of my work programs as well.

It's true that you miss out on a lot of modern games. But isn't it really costly, since future games will require you to upgrade again?

I know I'll have to upgrade again inevitably but I'm just putting it off to a point when hopefully maybe the games and the hardware are a bit cheaper.

I need to upgrade it at some point, I can't even play any modern current-gen games on it. It works for what I use it for, though: Dark Souls 2. But at some point, Dark Souls 3 will be announced for current-gen consoles and PC and I'm gonna have to upgrade my rig by then. Hell, might be a complete overhaul by then, sadly...

Oh well, it's gonna be worth it.

I just splurged $1k on my gaming laptop in June this year so I don't need to upgrade for a couple of years now. Maybe I'll get a proper gaming pc once I'm settled in my home.

I definitely will, but it probably won't be soon. It's because I'm quite tight on budget right now. My desktop is still rocking i3, so I hope that'll change soon enough. I want to play Fallout 4 so bad but I can't because of this.

My current rig is two years old, but it's still outperforming the latest consoles, and can run the latest games at Mid/High graphics settings. I'll probably hold off upgrading for another one or two years.

I went and got myself an Alienware PC back in 2013. I still can run almost every new game that gets released so far. The way the games and their graphics are evolving makes me think there is going to be a time very soon where I might have to upgrade to a new one though.
