What I mean by that is the games that focus on actual racing competitions like NASCAR for example. They're boring for a lot of people, I wouldn't say I'm a fan either.

Yeah I'm much more interested in over the top racing games myself and traditional ones usually bore me pretty quickly so I'm not too curious about racing games based on existing racing circuits either. I'm sure there are a lot of subtleties that I'm just missing since I'm not an enthusiast.

People who watch racing religiously are really into those games, but I like games who don't relate too much to the real world. Explosions, over the top physics etc. make for a good game, like Burnout.

I like games that cater to a wide range of motorsport series', like Project Cars for instance, that lets you race touring cars, GT cars and Le Mans cars through a variety of national and international series'.

Same here. I prefer exaggerated features a lot more because I'm not enthusiast so realism doesn't do much for me since I'm not really too interested in the realistic car designs and features. Burnout is truly the best example of this.

In a way casual racing games are fun as well, as long as they aren't boring tracks with common cars. I really like Rocket League for its innovative gameplay, even though it's not a racing game by the book.

I get some enjoyment out of traditional racers too but I get bored a lot faster. As in I'd be bored by the second or third track I'm playing. I've seen rocket league and it does seem fun, although if I'm not mistaken I think it's somewhat closer to soccer than racing?

Such games are very boring. I know that there are some people who love them but I'm one of the many who don't.

I must admit [in passing] that there was a time I enjoyed the F1 games after playing other racing games I realized they were more entertaining and that's when actual racing competitions lost their allure.

It's a mixture of both, but technically the cars race to get faster to the ball. It's 50-50, but the idea of the game is unique nevertheless. It's the most fun I've had with a game in a while, I love it to bits! :D

This too I like, but as long as it's done right and not half-assed like some games have done so.

I can tell I'd like it too because I'm always up for the games that have power ups and especially when they are multiplayer. I will be picking it up once I get a new console surely.

It's a phrase for something that is not don right, like for instance a builder makes a rubbish job of a garden extension he is said to have done a half-assed job on it :)

I like realistic games just as much as wacky over the top racers. Simulator are extremely fun for me because I love customizing and racing in the most realistic way possible. I can see why some people get bored of them though.

I think a big factor for people who prefer real racers is their love for cars. I myself care more about the racing and the extra bells and whistles like power ups so real racers don't do much for me.

I like this way of racing too. I mean online on full settings there is no better gaming feeling than wining a race on the full real settings, or making a really great lap time in a car that you have given your own customisation to.

Yeah, you're absolutely right. That said, playing racing simulators is how I got into cars myself. I don't know everything there is to know, but I did start looking into proper car maintenance and other stuff because of racing games.
