When did your mini-adventure start? I think I played my first racing game when I was 3 years old, on the old Nintendo console.
As long as I can remember. I use to run off to the nearest arcade and play pole position. Any of you remember that game. If it wasn't that then I was playing enduro on the the Atari 2600, made by activision.
I've been playing racing games when I was a kid. Almost 15 years I think? I forgot the title of the first game I played but I played it on Nintendo console.
I hated Pole Position, but I think that's because it was too basic. Obviously, the game is pretty old, so that's not surprising.
Definitely a long, long time ago. About 10 years at least. The first time I have played a racing game was when I was 5 years old at my friend's house, it's one of my best memories.
I've been playing for a long, long time. Ever since my dad took me to an arcade when I was young and there was a SEGA Rally machine there. Man, I've used so many quarters on that thing! It was a blast.
I've only been playing racing games since 1998, when I got a Sega Dreamcast. I was never a fan of racing games before then, but the Dreamcast had a few good racing games like Sega GT and Tokyo Xtreme Racer. Even Crazy Taxi was fun.
I think I started out from playing Road Rash and Super Hang-on 2 on the Sega Megadrive. After that I was playing Destruction Derby on the PS1. Oh, and a special mention goes to Daytona USA that I saw at an arcade on holiday when I was 10. I played it once and became hooked on it.
I remember playing racing games on the old consoles and even in the arcades. I have always been drawn to driving games but I've always preferred ones with a twist to them that made the game much more than just trying to be the fastest. Some of the games I liked are ones where you are expected to score points or shoot enemies while driving.
I remember playing a lot of racing arcade games when I was a little boy. I used to always go with my friends in those places and compete with them. I had a lot of fun.
The first time I played a racing game was probably back in 2000. The crazy thing is I don't even remember what game is was that I was playing. I just know that I was horrible and playing and cried every time I would lose.
Racing games at the arcades are great. Way different in terms of experience since the noise and the fact that you had moving seats really added to the experience.
I played my first racing game when I was 8 years old. We'd gone to some friend's house and I had no intention of playing but after being called a few unsavory names I decided to play and as it was my first time, my lack of skill was more entertaining to the kids than the game itself.
I wasn't too good with the earlier racing games too although I think newer ones have gotten a bit more fair for everyone. The new games I find are more balanced.
I don't remember how old I was exactly, but the first racing game I played was Stunt Race FX for the SNES. It only had 4 vehicles to choose from, but it was incredibly fun. I've played a bunch of racing games over the years, but that was the one I started out with.
I was playing racing games well before the Nintendo even came out! In fact, I'm pretty sure I've been playing racing games ever since they became available (yes, I'm old)! I would probably have played my first racing game on a Commodore 64 at quite a young age. The games from back then are just ridiculously bad compared to the games of today.
The bit racing games were very fun and I have found more appreciation for them as modern racing games get better since they are the pioneers.
Seems I'm quite a bit later with my first 'real' racing game experience being mario kart DS (as oher racing games I played before didn't really catch my attention yet), together with Need for Speed for the DS. Since then I've been hooked to the mario kart franchise even though Need for Speed's DS version has a different kind of feeling to it. Mario Kart DS was way more 'casual' and Need For Speed I consider to be the first racing game I actually played.
