Video Game Movies - Will they ever not suck?

Yeah even if mistakes now have a storyline they usually are only there to incorporate the game mechanics and not the other way around and translating it onto the big screen is not always the easiest task.

 

Warcraft recently came out and I'm not going to lie: it's a pretty decent movie but for all the hype it got it could've been much better. I love the effects and cast though.

 

Dude, when I first saw Warcraft my head just dropped cause I swore the days of making video game movies was behind us. I mean think about it whats the point of making a movie based on a game that is visually impressive to begin with. It's pointless now unless it some thing based on an old title.

Dare I mention...Resident...Evil....

 

I worry that studios are starting to play it too safe on some of these big titles which is understandable but it makes the movies a bit boring. I've even started to feel the same for most new comic book movies since they are getting a bit too safe and formulaic for my taste.

 

When it comes to comic book movies I feel like they're starting to run out of stories and they're simply milking the money while they can, I think I speak for everyone when I say BvS was a little bit disappointing.;

 

I haven't watched Warcraft movie but my friends said that it was great. And as for Assassins Creed, I watched the trailer and it was okay, I just hope they won't let this suck. I'm just not going to let my hopes up on this one.

 

I've always been a fan of these characters myself but have completely lost interest over the past few years so much so that I haven't watched or even been interested in any release other than maybe first class. What I hated the most was that the colors became very muted and overall the presentation has become very bland like a soap opera on tv. Hopefully the video game movies will figure this out before they get ramped up but it seems they are just following the same formula because it's safe and still sells Anyway.
