Of course, the new first-person mode applies to driving, too. If you've tested it out, then you've quickly found that it completely changes races because you're only aware of what's in front of you rather than around you. Try doing some first-person races and see how well you can do.
I've always has trouble with first person view in racing and I'm assuming I'll find it even more difficult in this game because I already find the races here difficult to begin with. Still would be very fun to try out though.
Agreed, it would be way harder to know what's going around you, though that's of course a nice challenge to yourself then. I'd like to give it a try too, once I would get a chance to do so of course.
I honestly don't see how this wasn't a thing before. If I remember correctly, back in the arcade days they had this feature as an option for racing games. I don't see why GTA didn't think of this sooner. Maybe it was an after thought or someone came up with from one of the fans? I don't know, but I do know that it's an idea that I could get behind.
Yeah. I'm thinking of trying it out in some courses that I'm already familiar with so that I can have an easier time getting into it, but for past experience I'm guessing I'll still do terribly.
I have never really liked any game that you had to drive in the first person. Every time that's I played a racing game I always played it with the view that I was able to see the car. I really do not like driving in the first person.
@troutski - I know that it was always a third person, as well as a bird's eye view, type of game. I'm referring to the fact that I'm surprised they don't do this sooner. Even though, I swear I could recall being able to go into first person in GTA III, GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andres. However, I can't remember if that was only when you were out of a car or not.
First Person games have always given me motion sickness. It makes no sense really. I can drive just fine but once I start playing a racing game in first person I need to turn it off or vomit.
Racing in first person in GTAV is a nightmare if you have Contact or GTA enabled. The rammers will spin you out and you don't know they're coming til you've spun three times and hit a ditch. I'd love first person racing, but I would turn off contact. Another disadvantage to new first person players is not knowing if the back of your car is about to hit a pole or something, that's always annoying to watch out for,
Me too. I'm honestly baffled at how some people become really great at fur person view. I think third person is much more comfortable because you get to see the environment more.
First person is hard to race in for a couple of reasons for me. The biggest one is that supposedly changed the physics of the game, which makes me worse at third person on PS4 and Xbox One. Add the fact that I don't know where half my car is and you got one terrible racer. Especally since everyone likes to ram and traffic swerves towards you, which is frustrating.
