I just got an iPad recently, about two months ago I'd guess, and I would like to get some games to pass the time. Anyways what racing games are good on the iPad? Something responsive and is easy to handle as I'm new to gaming on a tablet.
You should try Need for Speed Hot Pursuit HD, Need for Speed Shift HD, Real Racing HD or Asphalt 6: Adrenaline HD.
What gats said, but before spending some money on those, give Real Racing 3 a try. It's free: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/real-racing-3/id556164008?mt=8 And here's a trailer:
I've been playing this on and off for a few weeks. It's pretty good, but I find I'm progressing VERY slowly through the game. They recently gave me an offer for a sweet F1 or Bugatti or something, all for the low price of like 1,000,000 race bucks. It's rare I ever get more than 30k.
Asphalt gets my vote. It's much more than just a racing game since it allows you to takedown enemies and the controls are great as well. I don't like tilt controls and I appreciate that they made the touchscreen alternative very well.
All the Asphalt games are worth a try and the Need for Speed ones also! Have fun with your new iDevice!
I never played Need For Speed on my mobile phone so I don't know about that game, but I played quite a lot of Asphalt games and would recommend picking one of them up if you enjoy playing racing games. The graphics are good, the tracks and cars also and the handling is pretty good too. I still have this game installed on my phone and play it from time to time when I'm bored, it helps me to get out of the boredom.
I love playing it in short bursts as well. The mechanic that impressed me the most was the controls and drifting. At first I didn't get it but once I learned how to drift on it properly I was hooked.
Real Racing 3 is probably one of my favorite mobile games of all time, and I don't really like mobile games..
I guess anything in the Asphalt series or Real Racing series. You cant go wrong with those, personally I have them and like them.
Need for Speed, Asphalt 8, and Real Racing 3 are all great, but some of them try to screw you over with in-app purchases, especially Real Racing 3.
Real Racing 3 has a lot of tracks and a lot of cars! It's a pretty fun game and it also has pretty nice graphics. If you would like something with better graphics I suggest Asphalt 8. This game has one of the best graphics in the app store. There is also Need for Speed which has nice graphics too! I recommend Real Racing 3 though, it's the best within those 3.
I think the Asphalt series is one of the best I've played for mobile. I'm talking strictly iOS since I don't own an android, but I'm sure it's pretty much the same. The controls are smooth and responsive if you have a decent phone, and the games are just pure fun.

I agree it really is an impressive game for mobile and just as a game in general. I was really surprised at how good the controls were especially when I first downloaded it on my first touch device since I wasn't really expecting much.
I've been wanting to try out the older versions of asphalt but it seems like they have been taken out of the App Store. That or I may just have missed it or maybe they just took it out temporarily. By the time I got a touchscreen they were already at asphalt airborne.
All of the Asphalt games are solid games and well worth your time and as mentioned previously, the Need for Speed mobile ports are all quite good, though I think you might be better off playing them on another platform that isn't a mobile device.
