Have you ever considered buying a better phone just so that you could play more and better games on it, because your current phone "sucks" for that type of thing?

I definitely take it into consideration when choosing a phone to buy or upgrade to, because I like playing a few rounds whenever I'm stuck waiting in line or I'm traveling.

I upgrade every 1-2 years, so the thought of it never really crossed my mind. I always tend to get the new iPhone whenever it comes out, so I never really have to worry about the hardware.

I guess it depends how badly I want the game and how badly my current phone sucks, lol. I've never actually gone out and bought a new phone because I really wanted to play a certain game. I just wait until my upgrade and then I can get a new phone and play the game :)

Yup. My very first Android phone was a Samsung Galaxy Y. I was very happy because I could play a lot of touch screen games. But then, I realized that I couldn't play other 3D games like Temple Run and Shadowgun. I was envious of others who had dual core devices. You know what I did? I purchased a Galaxy Note 2. Now, I'm able to play a lot of great games even while traveling. :D

Same here. I really would like to see a new version of that phone and if they did come out with one I'd definitely be picking one up immediately.

I always look to getting a better phone. The first thing I check in a new phone is what GPU it uses, and how much better it is than mine. Most games nowadays upgrade their graphics when they update, and after a while you may notice a lag. And that just makes me want to upgrade cos I can't stand it, when it lags.

Yeah, it's one of the things I look out for when choosing a new phone as well because I think games are a good way to measure the phones power and speed. Even if I didn't plan on installing heavy games on it, I'd much rather that the phone I'd be spending my money on at least would be able to handle it if I chose to do so.

Not particularly, I picked up a OnePlus One from China three months and it has the best specs on the market. Snapdragon 801 processor, Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB of RAM. I won't have any need to upgrade for gaming purposes for quite some time,

This is indeed one of the reasons why I get a good phone. I love gaming on my iPhone :D

I actually upgrade exclusively for games. Without games I would probably still be using my old Droid. I loved the keyboard on that thing, but it could do little more than text and call.

Oh, how much money I would save if I didn't play games so much.

I'll never buy a new phone in order to play better [or newer games] on the phone.

The only games I ever play are racing games and to be honest, to fully enjoy a racing game, you need some decent graphics but you wouldn't get that on a phone because of their small screen-size. So I'd never, ever get a new, better phone for gaming purposes.

Well that would be a good reason for getting a better phone for gaming. For someone who doesn't have to travel a long distance to work [like me for example] if I really wanted to play a game, all I need to do is dash back home [it takes less than 10 minutes] and get on my PC.

I have the OnePlus One and it's amazing because of how it's screen makes Pixel Dungeon look so much more better! :p

Agreed. From my experience, Apple products hold up very well with age and wear. The only thing you have to look out for is updating the OS which could slow down your device, but even that has some workaround to it.

Nope.... when I go phone shopping I am more concerned with internet speed and GB space than anything else.

I had the Galaxy S5 and it was great for gaming. The screen size and the hardware capabilities. I'm back on the LG L9 and haven't even attempted to play anything because all the new and good games require a lot more power. I can't wait to upgrade to the S5 again, or just wait for the S6 to come out. specs and prototype design are looking really good so far.
