I think it was a sad moment as Cj seemed to look up to him like a brother and also Big Smoke chose to join the corrupt cop Tenpenny and the Ballas as well which must of been hard for Cj to grasp and seeing the car which took his mum's life must of hurt him a lot. I was surprised Big Smoke did this and also had Ryder there as well who was easy to talk into as the Ballas had more influence and also power as well, due to Tenpenny who was getting his cut in money and drugs as well. Big Smoke would of been better as the sidekick of Cj and was sad to see him turn out to be the villain and having to fight against him in the game and he got corrupted by the power and money in the end.

Thanks for the spoiler, lol I haven't reached part of that game yet. I am not really the type that gets sad when the storyline calls for it when it comes to playing video games.

jeez...that is a major spoiler alert, just kidding of course. It was pretty sad when they betrayed him. To see him become the villain was a pretty huge shock.

Yes, he always seemed so helpful in the initial missions. He was like a brother you could count on, and maybe even lend you a helping hand when you were down. That really shocked me, as he was probably the last person I would have suspected to have done the drive by using the Green Sabre and started the whole chain which led CJ back to San Andreas.

He is the villain! That's one of the most amazing 'shocks'. I must say that this game is full of shocks.

Yes of course! GTA:SA was my first ever GTA, alongside Vice City. I had it on the PS2 when I was about 9 (my parents were 'cool', letting me play an 18) and this was probably my first heartbreak. I still hear his voice in my head many years on:

"All we had to do was follow the damn train CJ!"

Don't forget his line at the Drive-Thru: "I'll have 2 number 9's, a number 9 large, a number 6 with extra dip, a number 7, two number 45's - one with cheese, and a large soda."

You'd really sympathize with his character, in spite of him being a backstabber in The Green Sabre. All he wanted was to have more for himself, and if he had remained a Grove for life, he will never get what his heart wants. To that end he had to give up his Grove membership in order to gain something of greater value. You can tell that he had no regrets betraying Grove Street especially in the last mission where he confronts CJ.

I don't think there is a GTA San Andreas player alive that wasn't a fan of Big Smoke and was gutted when it turned bad in the end. Big Smoke was a huge, likeable character in the game, and his lines and the way he acted drew people in to liking him, and Rockstar knew what they was doing, and I'd say they had this planned all along.

That was quite a twist. It really goes to show how much effort Rockstar puts into their characters. Big Smoke was so lovable that it was a massive blow to have him end up being a villain.

I also think that it was the first time I've thought about the character in a game, the same way that I had about a character in a movie.

In a game they're not usually that memorable but I'm this case, the fact that we're still talking about Big Smoke now just shows what sort of an impression he's made.

Not really since I didn't care much about Big Smoke. I've got to say though that his betrayal surprised me. I didn't see it coming at all, despite the hints we've been getting before we actually found out. I've actively hated him after that.

Yeah, at my first playthrough I didn't expect Big Smoke to betray me. He was like the fat bro to me, the one that always guards and protects you. I was sad indeed.

Ha ha are you really spoiling the game? For real. Many haven't reach that level yet. Well, for me it's a bit sad. But I already expect for it.

I saw it coming from a mile away. It didn't surprise me one bit.

That's strange, I didn't suspect even one bit. Guess I thought Big Smoke was like a big bro to CJ.

Maybe because I am black and grew up "in the hood" myself, i have seen stuff like this happen countless times. It's nothing new to me.

I haven't reached to that point yet, though it is surprising that Big Smoke would betray CJ. This game is full of surprised.

Big Smoke was like the funny big bro I've never ever even heard, lucky for me. I was surprised when found out that he betrayed us.
