More exactly: How did you start to play it? What made you try this game and why did you stick around until this day?
Watching my best friend do the tank cheat in GTA3 and watching him go about blasting shit up and running from the cops. I couldn't believe so much mayhem was possible for a game during that era and I begged him to lend it to me. It was the weekend of course. I look back fondly on it. But what really got me hooked was the storyline in Vice city and so far its the ony GTA game I've played all the way to the end of the story.
A couple of my buddies used to always talk about GTA. I thought I'd take a look at it because it was pretty popular back in the time. From there, I started playing GTA.
I've been playing GTA ever since the series first started with the top down views. I reneber there being a lot of complaints at the time about the game, and people saying games like that shouldn't be made. All's this did of course was make more people buy it because they wanted to know what all the fuss was about in the first place.
Watching my brother roam around in his mansion in Vice City for a few minutes then get bored and spawn in a tank to blow stuff up in. It was amazing to for a 5 year old see and it got me hooked on gaming as a whole
First time I saw a GTA game was at a family members house. I was scared to play it because I never saw a game like it before. Didn't even look it up when I got home. Then I had a few friends over and they bought GTA 3 and we played it. From there I got hooked on the other GTA games and we played San Andreas together online. Was good times.
I don't remember exactly how I got myself into GTA. All I recall is that I just played the game out of chance.
Vice City was the first one I ever played. I guess seeing it at friends house was the main thing really.
I played the first one on the Playstation. I think I saw it listed in a catalogue or a magazine and then asked my parents for it because I liked the look of the cover art. I think that's how I got in to it but I could be wrong. It's been a number of years since!
GTA has always been a very popular game series that goes back many, many years. Controversial as well, there used to be a lot of talk of banning the game in certain countries. Obviously, due to it being so hyped by the media, I decided to give it a try and was instantly addicted to the free-roam element.
A friend actually had talked about GTA II i think it was. I remember playing it with the overhead camera and thinking it was pretty fun. Then GTA III came out so we decided to try it out and it blew our minds. The upgrade from II which I just thought was a pretty fun "whatever" type of game was definitely game-changing at the time.
When I was a young child, before I had even turned ten years old, I watched my cousins, who were teenagers at the time, play Vice City. At first, I was horrified by the mass bloodshed and by the terrifying explosions. However, the more and more I stayed with my cousins and watched them play the game, the more I became fascinated by it. Never before had I played a game that allowed the player to walk into and out of buildings freely, and onto rooftops and beaches. Needless to say, I became totally enthralled with Grand Theft Auto ever since, and have not turned back.
I can't remember what got me hooked into GTA. I guess I enjoyed escaping from the cops and killing people, and that got me started on the series.
Our first computer that was bought in 2005 was a 2nd hand one. It had lots of games in it, and one of the games was GTA: VC. So I started playing it, and the rest was history. That was the start of my liking for GTA that lasted until now.
I was in high-school when San Andreas came out. It was the game to play back then. I was mostly an RTS kind of guy, but I gave in to social pressure and bought it. Needless to say, my mind was blown. So, if there's one think I have to thank my friends for, is getting me to discover GTA.
I was a big fan of the originally games just because it was free roaming and fun to mess around on. Then when it went to 3D I was sold, couldn't believe they did it at first but it was incredible! Loved it ever since
I remember seeing one of my friends snipe random npc's in Vice City. He was nailing head shots and the squirt of blood from a headless corpse was not really something I was used to seeing in games. Curiousity got the best of me and I've never looked back.
My sister borrowed it from her friends back when she was in Highschool and that was like almost a decade ago. And that game was GTA Vice City and it was pretty fun. That was the start I came to like GTA.
For me it was the same thing that got every other kid into it; no rules. This was the only game that you could literally do whatever you wanted. Nothing can attract players more than that!
