I have it on steam. For whatever reason, the controls make the game completely unplayable for me. Not sure if that's just my fault or not, but the camera controls destroyed it for me :(

I don't! My laptop, despite having been produced in 2013, lacks a video card good enough to support San Andreas. From the GTA series, I only have Vice City installed in my laptop, and I have numerous problems with the gameplay, again, due to its hardware.

Ya I had the console version as well as the PC version, and the graphics are a big difference. The graphics in the PC version look way better than the console version.

As expected it looks far better on windows than on the PS2 but that is to be expected. I got mine from steam a few years back.

I used to have SA on my PC. Too bad I can't find my CD of it. The MP was great and it really runs smooth on PC.

I had it on Windows (XP) back in the day. It worked fine and was pretty smooth. I heard there were some problems with some of the updates on steam, deleting some songs they no longer had the rights to use, so maybe some updates broke something.

Yes, but I still need a controller like that of a Playstation 2 in order to play the game fully. Trying to drive with a keyboard is insane, and I wouldn't be able to enjoy the countless hours of driving you can have in the game. There were some instances when a mouse was useful, like using a sniper rifle, but with the auto aim, outside the sniper, you really don't need to use the mouse all that commonly, and I think the game is good enough with a controller instead of a mouse.

I played San Andreas for a while on PC and it played better than on consoles, I was able to get 60fps and better quality. I mainly played SA:MP.

I've seen people play it, and I would argue it's actually better on windows. It feels like the graphics/resolution are better, online capabilities, and mod capabilities are all upsides to playing on windows. Plus, you can play it easily with the click of a button, instead of having to pull out an old console and set it up.

I too have the game for windows and have played it on the console, but also on the PC. I prefer the PC version though, as I prefer the PC in general anyway.
But differences in the versions are not that big, unless you really try to pinpoint bad stuff out, for example graphics and perhaps the controls.

I prefer to play on console, it is easier for me especially on games series that I grew up on playing on console. It just gives me a more "in the zone" feeling.

I have recently got the game on steam. You can see that some of the time consoles are kind of acting weird on the game. So it's safe to play the game on the PC. And that should be enough for the usage when you want. Consoles may have that issue for some of us.

I don't usually advertise piracy, but you can download GTA SA from a torrent site. Last time I checked, people don't use CDs anymore dude. :)

I have San Andreas on my PS2 to this day, and on the PC obviously. The game feels the same, actually. But when you play on either of those you get an entirely different feeling. Playing on a PC feels kinda casual and cozy. Playing on a console feels like a cinematic experience.

Yeah, I have it on both Windows and PS2. I use PS2 for singleplayer, and Windows for SAMP.
