I picked this game up along with a Wii U on its launch, and I never regretted the decision. I find that this game is so much fun, especially with friends! Sure, it's alright even against the computer opponents, but I find that this game really shines when you play against your friends, maybe over a few beers. I think that this game is the most fun I've ever had with a racing game in years! Now that some time has passed and the hype has died down, what is your opinion on this game? Do you have as much fun with it as I do? Or do you consider it boring?
My opinion is that the game is still very awesome, and that anyone who doesn't already own the game needs to go out and buy it, so that they can play it. The online community is still going strong, only takes seconds to find people to race against. It is by far my favorite racing game ever!
I got to play this when I visited a friend who owned it and I have to agree it is a very well made game. I'm not even that big of a fan of cartoony and cute types of games but even I enjoyed it because at the core it's just a really well made racing game with good controls and mechanics.
I played the game a lot when it launched and I still think it's cool, but I've kind of just grown out of it and don't play anymore. It's really, really fun and addicting!
I used to play this game like when this game launched. Kinda burned out playing this game, now I;m playing other games but I think in the future I will revisit this game.
I want to know what are Nintendo's plans for Mario Kart 8? We will most likely see it on the NX and not the WiiU for the obvious reasons, (bad console sales). I hope it does make a leap for the NX and have some interesting new twist. I'm just wondering why they didn't continue with the Diddy Kong Racing.
This game is still fun to play mostly with friends. I still find myself getting extremely angry when I am in first place and then get knocked off on the last lap. Honestly, this game causes high blood pressure.
I agree this is best played with friends. I find I'm not as angry when a friend knocks me off at the last second since it's part of it and it adds to the fun. Just makes me want to get revenge even more which is great for game nights.
If there is one game that I think will never get old is Mario Kart. No matter what console that I play the game on it is still one of the best games that I have ever played in the Nintendo franchise. I have so much fun playing this game and it is always my go to game whenever I have my buddies come over. I honestly don't think that this will be a game that I get tired of anytime soon.
Yeah at this point it has become part of tradition so as long as they keep making new maps and characters I know people will continue playing and supporting it.
It's a great game, one of the best in the series in my opinion. The DLC really adds a lot to the game as well. I stop playing it for months at a time, but I always come back eventually.
It's still the best kart racing game series out there, period. I would recommend it as one of the biggest reason why you should consider a Wii when buying a console.
This is an incredible game. Visually impressive and stunning, and the track design is simply one-of-a-kind. I'm more of an old school head and still love MK64 and MKDS, as far as getting my pure racing fix, but MK8 is definitely an impressive achievement.
I agree. I've gotten to play a few other kart racing games and although they were still fun in their own right there is just something subtly better about this particular game which I can't pinpoint.
I usedto play that game with a friend of mine who has a WiiU, however I did not really like it at all, it did not convince me whatsoever, I would still recommend it to any mario kart lover.
I only like playing this with my friends, but when we get together we end up playing Mario Kart anyway. I hope to finally beat it one day.
Definitely not the best game in the series, but a must have for the fans of mario kart. If you've never played any mario kart, pick it up too, you'll have lots of fun!
The game is great, it hasn't changed a lot through the years, so most people who have stopped playing after the first few Mario Kart games can easily jump back in and learn only a few things, like the map, new additions like weapons and other tricks in the book. I think it's great, as it transcends generations of gamers, and the fact that I could have easily played this game even if I didn't have any experience with playing games, tells something.
Well I love it. I am not sure if I can say that it is the best one, yet that is. Even now, after playing it for some time, it still feels a little new, probably just because I have playing these games ever since I was a little kid and have spent a lot of hours on it. I really enjoy playing with other people, too, which is a big factor in my appreciation for racing games.
