Do you use cheats when you play your games? I normally will play the whole game without cheats and only after I have done so I normally go look for any cheats just in case I missed some Easter eggs or bonuses.

I use cheats when I have already mastered the game and you want more play value out of it. That's the only time I would use a cheat is for the extra fun after the fact.

I'll use cheats if something in very specific circumstances. If something is proving to be immensely frustrating, or if I've already beaten the game and just want to try and mess around with codes, else I find that cheats kind of ruin the experience of the game.

I used to really want to play all my games without cheats just so that I can say that I beat the game without it. Now I do't really care because it's not like a life accomplishment for me to beat it with cheats. It's just a game to me.

Cheats make the game really fun, and knowing all of the cool things that you can do with cheats makes me want to cheat.

I use cheats to find out some hidden stuff or to see what they can do in game, but I don't use them to win a game or finish a career always first. Where's the fun in that? :p

Just like every other member here, I also play the game without cheats when I play the game for the first time. When I become an experienced player, I switch to the cheat mode because it makes the game much more interesting and I really love playing the game with cheats.

There is nothing worse then getting stuck in a game. Cheats can come in handy during those times. I would lie if I never used a cheat to take me out of a bind. I think the objective is to enjoy the game and not spend days mopping around because you can't find a map or a trinket in order to jump level.

Thanks for stating that, that's how I feel also because I have been in many spots for various games when a cheat simply cleared everything up. These game developers love to hide content in games that are literally super hard to hind.

I have played Call Of Duty, and in the game you have to find intel through out different levels. Some of the places that I have randomly found them were so hard to find. I'd rather use some cheap that will unlock all the content that those found intel files would have done.

I usually never use cheats when actually playing any game. However, I do sometimes like to enable cheats just to mess around and see how much I can do when given full control over the game.

I try to finish the game first before playing it a second time with cheats if I'm up for it because I find it spoils the experience when I do it on the first run. Wen I do that I feel like I just wasted my money.

To beat the game the first time, I'll use cheats if I can find them. Then afterwards I can alternate between playing the game without cheats [when I seek something challenging] or with cheats when all I'm after is some "quick fun".

I'd have thought that most people would have been the opposite, and they'd try and complete the game without the cheats first, and then if they had to resorted to them at a later date?

For me I have a mixed opinion on them really and while in the past on certain games I have resorted to using them, at the same time it's always been more of a last resort for me and when I've used them I've always felt as if I've not got value for money out of the game then because I've...well, cheated to finish it.

Exactly. You buy a game for the challenge. Cheats are just that. You bypass the challenge for instant gratification.

To be honest, I hate losing . . . but one reason why I use cheats is — I'd rather know what the game is like and what it's replay value will be. Using cheats allows me to beat the game fast and whilst doing that I'll know if the game was worth the money I spent on it. Unfortunately though finding cheats for new games never is easy.

I'm sure as gamers we all hate losing, haha! I understand what you're saying, but at the same time when I have completed a game I tend to stop playing it, so if I use cheats right from the beginning then I'll complete the game in no time at all and then the game get's left to one side.

If I'm spending $50+ on a game, I want to get as much value for money as possible out of it, so if I do end up using cheats to complete it, I tend to only use them after I've played the game for a decent amount of time first.

I use cheats but I don't use them frequently. When the game seems hard, I switch back to the cheat codes. I also don't believe in the idea that cheat codes make the game boring. I think playing the game with the cheat codes is more interesting.

Not anymore, but that's mostly because I'm such an achievement/trophy hunter. 90% of the time, cheats disable those trophies or achievements, so that's no good for me. In racing games like this I think cheats make the game a bit boring. More chaotic games like GTA benefit from cheats because you can get any weapon or vehicle you want. This one I feel benefits from natural progression.

I agree. I think that's why cheats exist in the first place. Not so they allow a gamer to quickly beat a game but instead so that you can experience the full game after you've proven you can get through it.

I agree, however, I do remember the old Grand Theft Auto games that were just not that much fun without cheats. Some games just don't have an adequate story line to justify playing it all the way through. So, cheats help make those as fun as they can be!

Does anyone remember the struggle of having to write down a million arrow symbols so you wouldn't forget the cheat? Now we can just look at our phones! LOL
