Hey all, I've just recently started playing Dirt 3, and I'm having a blast. The cars, the tracks, and the whole off-road aspect is really fun, especially when coming from mostly playing simulators. One thing I wanted to ask though, is which Dirt game do you guys think is the best? Or even going a step further, which dirt racing game in general is the best?
I believe that there really is no "best" dirt racing game. You can play them all and maybe you'll like one more but you'll find that someone else thinks another game is better. That said, did you play NASCAR: Dirt To Daytona? It was quite good.
The Dirt series of games are the definitive rally/dirt racing games for me, and I can't see any other game coming out being better. Dirt driving does take a lot of getting used to, especially if you've been brought up on track racing games like I had, but Dirt had just the right amount of difficulty so you could make the transition smoothly.
Dirt 3 is among the best games in this genre, I tried out NASCARTD and a couple of others and I wasn't that impressed by them.
I'd imagine that most people when looking for a dirt racing game will try the Dirt series, as its the most common out there. The fact it's THAT good aswell means that most other games that are based on dirt racing will pale in comparison, and it seems to have got the corner of the market covered.
Dirt 3 is amazing and I think it might be the best out there. There's not many dirt games out there with the same attention to detail and realism as that game has.
I can't believe that you were not impressed by these games. I loved these games and I must say that these games are really amazing and interesting.
The difficulty of a game can make or break it, especially when we're talking about a game such as this. Dirt racing games are in a niche market and I think a lot of people when discussing racing games will be more attracted to the track racing games. They'll 'try' a dirt game but maybe not think they'll like it. If you try a game for the first time and you're quite good at it, that gives you the incentive to keep playing, and that's why the difficulty setting is important.
I don't think I've played a dirt game that I didn't like to be honest, they've all been well made and I guess I just like the genre. I think if I had to choose a favourite I'd go with Dirt 3 though.
I really enjoyed Dirt Tracking Racing 2. It's one of them games that can either be really easy or really hard. So there's a lot of room to get better and improve your skills. I use to race it with just a keyboard and did very well. Works even better with a wheel, as expected. Would definitely recommend if you're a fan of round dirt track racing. (like sprints)
I honestly think dirt games are more of rugged and fun compared to the realistic races like F1 or Gran Turismo, but they still don't hold up to fantasy racing games like Mario Kart. Having a variety of weapons and maps make the game so much better, and no offense to the people who love realism in gaming, I always have a soft spot for the mayhem that fantasy racing games can provide.
I think this is the best one though the are other good ones too. I liked Sega rally a lot though the controls are a bit off in my opinion. These days I think the controls of dirt games have gotten way better.
Well, I have played many dirt racing games and I really can't say which is the best. Almost all the dirt racing games released this year are good in my opinion. I would highly recommend you to play Dirt
You are right. Over the years, the games have developed. All the games like Sega Rally has improved over the last 5 years. The developers are always trying to implement some new features in the game. I really love to play Sega Rally.
I think Dirt 3 is one popular of the games. I am also looking at World of the Outlaws Sprint cars 2010 as one good game out there
I hаvе Dirt 2 оn Stеаm but it's nеаrly impоssiblе tо gеt it running prоpеrly. Thеrе's sоmе kind оf missing drivеr thаt yоu hаvе tо instаll sеpаrаtеly tо gеt thе gаmе tо bооt аnd оnсе I'vе finаlly gоttеn thе gаmе tо bооt thе mеnus will just disаppеаr.
I hаvеn't bееn аblе tо асtuаlly plаy thе gаmе in аgеs bесаusе it's соmplеtеly brоkеn. Whiсh suсks bесаusе I rеаlly еnjоyеd it.
