The jump of graphics in gameplay is so massive with the arrival of GTA V, I think, when put side by side by the older games, but surprisingly I think a lot of the old games are still very playable, if not all of them. I sometimes even prefer the simplistic type of gameplay in the older ones, which I think works best for handheld consoles and when played in short bursts. Do you guys still play the old GTA games today? Which is your favorite?
Yes. Three months ago I was at my cousin's house and we played GTA Vice City and it was quite fun. Also, GTA Vice City is my favourite serie from the GTA series!
After playing GTA IV and IV, I no longer had the craving to go back and replay the old GTA games. The current GTAs are simply way better that it is not worth going back to old GTAs. Maybe I would go back to the PS 1 versions just to see how bad the graphics are. Lol.
I agree! I played this a lot on the PSP, but I have to admit, I like LCS a little more. I actually don't finish a lot of games, and this was one of the few that I did complete.
Yes, I love all the old GTA games, they are my favorite. In fact I tend to enjoy Vice City a lot more than I do Grand Theft Auto Five. I feel like the missions are much better and I grew up with the game so it has a little bit of a nostalgic factor for me.
I've been meaning to go back to 3, Vice City and San Andreas. Also considered replaying GTA4 but then I remembered just how much I hate that awful game.
Not on consoles. I play San Andreas sometimes on the PC because it's a great game. Sometimes I've been thinking about playing GTA IV on PS3 since I just completed the story but never actually explored the world.
Why not? The gameplay and missions on Vice City and San Andreas are still great and the games still have some replayability.
Yes, I still play my old GTA games. I think that people get too crazed about the graphics that they forget the game play and story. I've seen games with great graphics but a horrible story and below average game play. To say that you won't go back and play the old games because of the graphics is a shameful thing to say!
I find it really hard to go back and play the old games. The voice acting is quite painful to listen to - and the scripts have improved so much in recent years, that going back and listening to the melodrama in San Andreas can be hard. Though Vice City will always shave a place in my heart for the music and the way that the game looks and I can go back to that for a drive anytime.
Old games to me don't lose their quality because another version of the game has been released. Most of the time these newer versions lack some elements that made the old games rock. So, yep, I do play old GTA games.
I still play Vice City and San Andreas. Those games were great! And something as simple as graphics will not deter me from enjoying them! Just because a game is old, doesn't mean you can't have a great time with it.
I can still go back and play the older games. I've never cared about graphics. I grew up with the Sega Genesis and PS1. The graphics of today just help it look and feel nicer but I play for the story. I still sit playing Vice City and SA religiously.
I still sometimes do but ever since the release of GTA 5 it has really been hard for me to go back and play any of the past games in the series. Honestly I would say that GTA 5 has really taken the crown when it comes to open world sandbox games.
I still go back to Vice City and San Andreas tie to time to try some new mods out. On the other hand, I didn't really like GTA 4 much to be honest.
I still find GTA 3 to be my favourite game of all in the series. I plug my PS2 in every now and again to give this a whirl
No. If I still had them I probably would play them every once and a while for nostalgia and memories. But the graphics on GTA V are so good, it could be hard at times to go back.
I pretty much go through san andreas annually at this point. I love that game and it's absolutely insanely fun missions. Parachuting off of a Casino after a heist? Yes please!
I do still play the older Grand Theft Auto's. Just last night I was playing Grand Theft Auto: Liberty Stories on the PSP. The only difference between GTA games are graphics and a few features, other than that they play exactly the same.
