Do you buy a new gaming PC when your old is not good enough anymore or do you just upgrade it's hardware piece by piece and how often do you do that? Is it every year when new version of hardware comes out or do you wait so long that you simply can't play any new games on that PC?
Well i buy new gaming PC like every 5 years or so because i build it by my self and then just keep upgrading parts on it. Also if there's a failure i just buy new part and replace it because it's much cheaper and better solution. Ye it's true that new games need really good gaming PC to be able to play them but still you can quite cheap build a PC that will still hold the games.
I just buy what i need as I need it. Then when I can't upgrade any longer I go buy a new PC. I don't game much on PC as I did before though.
You will have to buy a new PC after a certain point of time. I brought my old PC back in 2002, upgraded it for a while. Everything was going well, but there was a time when monitors, Keyboard and motherboard needed to be replaced, so I sold the old one a brought new one home.
My original gaming rig was built using around $600-700. Every year I chip in some to get a new graphics card/processor/motherboard.
Invest in a powerful machine and then upgrade it gradually as the need calls for it. It's much cheaper to buy the component you need [that has got outdated] than buying a new PC each time you find that you computer is lagging when you're playing games. For me its buy > Upgrade > Upgrade until the upgrades are as bad as the old machine > Buy a new P.C.
I am on my first ever gaming PC , so I can't really say whether I buy or upgrade. My PC is a very small computer, it can't fit any of the more powerful cards in it's case, and the mobo is not suitable either. I decided since I would be upgrading almost everything, that I could just get a new PC entirely, and just sell my old one. After I get my new one, I am planning on just upgrading until the PC literally falls apart.
I try as much as possible to just buy brand new because I prefer it that my parts are aging at the same time and pace, but if it can be helped then I would settle for replacements because it's obviously much cheaper and practical, but after a certain amount of years I think it is also alright to just replace the whole thing.
W Well it all depends , sometimes, I wait out, it depends if I am so much into the game, if I am then I will buy a new one instead of just updating.
I incrementally upgrade my PC from time to time to ensure that it's still a top of the line machine. Custom builds are so much more useful than pre-configured ones.
I basically keep upgrading and selling off the old parts, making sure it stays at the top. Honestly sometimes I basically replace everything except the hard disks and case.
I usually upgrade it until it's so old you can't even find parts for it . That's the best thing of a PC, you can keep it up to date just by upgrading key elements like the video card, RAM or HDD. Processors don't need to be upgraded that often, well unless you're using your computer for video editing and things like that. In terms of gaming, if a video game runs at a decent framerate, I declare myself pleased. Never been a fan of graphics, games need to be fun, anything else is a bonus and not a requirement.
I never buy a PC I build my own. When my original build gets too old to upgrade I sell the whole thing and start fresh with a brand new build. I usually upgrade my PC every 1 to 2 years and I do a complete overhaul every 5 to 6 years.
Same. I'm replacing my current PC, since it's an AMD and I want an intel CPU for emulation, but i've been using the same PC for 7 years now and switched the whole MOBO once. Served me well.
My PC was built last mid 2011 and it's still powerful I must say. But since many games this year are required to have powerful or latest drivers or etc. I need to upgrade it.
It really depends on the hardware. If there's so much released, then may as well get a new PC instead of upgrading your old one over and over again.
