Favorite Genre of Music?

I'm into rap, reggae, older rock and even a little folk/country. But my favorite genre is classic soul. That's going back to the 60s and 70s, to artists like Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and the Jackson 5. It's a genre that's mostly romantic or uptempo for dancing, but there're a few great introspective and socially conscious albums.

What are your favorite genres to listen to?

 

I get into all kinds of genres, but I prefer electronic, trip-hop, and so on. I also get into some metal, black metal, death metal, as long as the vocals aren't the annoying growls. I also get into some rap, mostly Childish Gambino, Nas and indie artists. I can't get into any of the mainstream rap/hip-hop stuff.

 

I don't really have a favorite genre. I can get into a lot of different kinds of music.
I like underground rap like Raider Klan and Metro Zu and Khalil Nova and Akumasanti. I listen to indie artists too.
Some mainstream is okay but the majority is garbage.

 

I only had two big phases in my life. Rock is what I grew up with and loved. Then took a break and fell in love with trip-hope and now I'm back to rock. Blues-rock in particular.

 

Metal, metal, metal. Pretty much the only thing I listen to.

 

Metal and progressive rock. My playlist changes depending on my mood but the changes come from either of these 2 genres only.

 

I'm into everything really: 80s/90s/early 00s rap and hip hop, alternative hip hop, country before 2000, 60s motown, soul, metal, prog metal, grunge, classic rock, prog rock, rockabilly, rock n' roll. The list just goes on.

 

Rarlier this year, I worked at Goodwill and all they played was Motown and other r and b from the 50s, 60s, and 70s, Some of it was actually catchy and I grew to like it. The customers would always tell me how much they enjoyed listening to it

 

My favorite genre of songs is Blue. I do not know the exact reason for my choice but I feel good when I listen to this genre.

 

Rock/Metal/Blues. Picking one specific genre is redundant. The best music is an amalgamation of styles.

 

I really like post-rock. It is very calm music genre. It has no vocals, just the instrumentals. I meditate to that music sometimes when I have nothing to do. It is really calm and I can ponder about meaning of life or something while listening to it.

 

Pop, or anything that's good. (yes, I just said that!)

 

My favorite genre is Pop and slow jams such as Jazz. I love soothing music.

 

Hip-hop and R&b for me, maybe some pop for a couple weeks.

 

I enjoy a lot of types of music. The thing is, I don't actually pay attention to the genre itself. As long as it sounds good, I listen to it! I really hate metal and rock though, and all those genres similar to that. They're just terrible!

 

80s stuff and electronic music. I like most types though..

 

My favorite type of music is rock and metal, but I like to listen to all types of music if the songs are good. I enjoy listening to all of the genres, but I wouldn't go to a concert other than a rock or metal concert, because I don't really enjoy other music that much that I would like to pay for it.

 

I love all types of music but if I was to choose I would say Pop. I mainly listen to chants and mantras now they get me relaxed.

 

I feel you on that classic soul. I love Marvin Gaye and everything that comes along with him.

 

I'm really into rap myself as well, and I love the old time soul music, it makes me feel like I could really live in that time.
