I hope there are a few bookworms on the forum. So basically, what book are you reading right now? Or alternatively, what book are you going to pick up next? Just started reading Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman today. It is the only Gaiman novel for adults that I haven't read yet and seeing that Pratchett is one of my favorite writers as well, I am pretty sure I would like it. If they can somehow combine Terry's wit with Gaiman's clever ideas then this one is bound to be an instant classic.
I am mostly reading law books right now since I am a law student. Recently I was interested in Sociology and I picked up this book at my local book stand called "Introduction to Sociology" by Peter Worsley
Right now I'm reading Watchmen. I liked the movie a lot so I thought I'd pick up the comic and have a go at it to see what was made differently. I think it's great so far, and it's really amazing how much depth they were able to put into what is essentially a comic book.
I haven't read a novel in so long. When I do, I sometimes fall a sleep because they get so boring. I can't remember the last time i read a good novel for a good amount of time.
I'm currently reading Angela's Ashes and I have some mixed feelings while reading this book. Sometimes it's funny but later on or on the next page it will make you cry.
I actually just finished reading Confessions by Kinae Minato. What a dark and disturbing book. It recounts a very harrowing topic that's most taboo in our society and most societies these days, which is child murder. The thing about this book, it is void of emotion. Even the so called happy moments in this book just make it even harder to read the next dark and twisted scene of the book. Everything is just blank of expression, which makes reading this book hard to do. Once you finish this book, it'll be hard to go to sleep.
I'm in a bit of a slump right now so I haven't read anything in the past couple of months, but here are some nice suggestions. I'll get those books on my shortlist.
I've been finding it harder to get into reading more and more nowadays since there are a lot more easier distractions like watching videos or playing games on my phone.
I mostly read manga nowadays. There's only two manga that I follow and those are One-Punch Man and Nana to Kaoru.
I tend to read a lot of non-fiction. Here are some things I'm reading: History of Philosophy. Basically a summation of the history of western philosophy. Very informative, thought provoking. Great primer for those interested in philosophy. Four Hour Work Week. Basically a guide to becoming an entrepreneur and freeing up time to do the things you enjoy. Very simple, very novel ideas here. Well-worth the time. You Are Your Own Gym. A short but comprehensive guide on why body-weight/calisthenic exercise is so awesome, includes countless examples and variations. I swear by this book now. Hope these benefit people.
I am reading school books nonstop lol. I am a Biology major so I have to study a lot. I'm currently taking Chemistry as well so yeah a lot of reading
I am reading A Thousand Splendid Suns by the author of The Kite Runner. It is a heart-breaking book, but my eyes have been glued from the very first page! I absolutely love the writing style, which is odd, because I usually can only tolerate the writing style of classics. This is the first book that has made my heart twirl and collapse with joy and sadness at every twist and turn of the plot, at least at this degree. This book is a great book with a foreign setting.
I am reading this little coffee table book that I picked up a little bit ago, and I love it. It is called "Why Don't Penguins' Feet Freeze?" and it is just full of these little weird and quirky scientific facts. Some of them are pretty interesting, including the one in the title of the book, and it is keeping my entertained and busy, and hopefully a little smart too.
How To Be A 3% Man by Corey Wayne. A very useful material on self-improvement. I recommend you all get yourself a copy.
I am mostly reading books on sciences especially those reflecting on medical sciences. That's my main area of interest. I also do read books on other fields generally like the arts and music, business management.
