Personally Nvidia is the only one changing and upgrading the technology as they go whereas ATI isn't doing nothing to change up the game and add tech. Not mentioning the AMD/ATI overheating issues. What about you folks?

Neither, both are very good companies putting out very good graphics cards. Nvidia and ATI always have cards out which are pretty much neck and neck, Nvidia is notorious for having bad drivers and these days although they do usually have a more extensive product range and usually the fastest card on the market. ATI are currently doing well though, they've been pairing up with manufacturers and doing a lot of work on consoles/mobile devices so hopefully we'll see big things from them too.

Both are good but, I use AMD for my gaming and it really has some great graphics.

I used to prefer ATI but I had two cards in a row fail due to overheating, so I made the switch to Nvidia and I never had any more heat problems, so my choice was made for me...

I had a laptop that had ATI graphics and it overheat like crazy and it ended up cooking the hard drive because of it. I sold the thing pretty quick because other problems were starting to pop up like USB ports not working and so on.

So, ATI isn't good for your gaming? Or just your processor can't handle too much.

Guess the overheating is a general problem for ATI, I wonder why.
Maybe the cooling fans are a lower quality than Nvidia or something...

Well ATI cards just get hotter on average is the thing really. They need to work on the manufacturing end to fix that but better fans definitely wouldn't hurt.

There are fanboys on either side of the debate who will suggest the card they are loyal to above the other brand. So, it's important to look at this objectively, especially when comparing the stats between the cards and the your intended uses. One thing to consider is if you will be gaming on multiple monitors on higher resolutions, or a single monitor at a lower resolution. AMD benefits PC setups that feature higher resolution/ multiple monitor setups. Also, currently Nvidia has what most people say is the best single GPU on the market, the 780ti. It really depends on the amount you want to spend and the price per performance you can get out of a card, so I would look around.

They are both good companies. Sometimes one company will release a better product than the other, just go with what is right for you. I personally go for Nvidia because I like PhysX and Cuda. AMD might have some driver issues from time to time but so does NVidia. I just recently fixed an issue I was having with my computer not wanting to wake the display. I just installed older drivers and that fixed it.

I will prefer using Nvidia cards as I have used only that before. I like the features it provides like Phys-X and cuda.

Both are very good, but I always went with AMD. Why? Nvidia cards have problems with gta4, they sometimes cant run it because of incompatible drivers etc.. AMD made fast driver fixes, so that everyone could run it. Since then I'm only using AMD.

Nvidia will always carry the day. I have used both GPUs but found a liking for Nvidia. In addition, from the Nvidia site, you can be able to customize your GPU to effectively play the game that you want. Nvidia anytime.

You can't decide based on a single game fix only. It is the overall performance that matters.

I like AMD. It's mainly due to the price. They are cheaper for pretty much the same amount of gigs with Nvidia. Look at the price of the high end Nvidia cards they are roughly two months of my rent.

Nvidia has a longer lifespan and decent physics, but the prices isn't that good.

I found AMD to be the best. I have always gone AMD because of the price and performance. AMD have consistently cheaper than NVIDIA . Also , in my opinion; AMD cards have better performance. There's also the benefit of cryptocurrency mining capabilities.

But there are a few games such as BF4 who run better on Nvidia.

I prefer AMD, I just love their products. I think that AMD gives you more bang for your buck, and gives you better features and extras when you buy their products. So far, I have never been burned by an AMD product. I have never tried Nvidia, but what from what I know from a friend, most of my favorite games don't run very well on Nvidia cards.
