I have never understood why the argument of using a computer versus of a console to play games is an actual thing. Yes, I have played a part and voiced my opinion on this topic a lot but then I realized why this is even a thing. PC is in a world in its own and so is the consoles. PC has a more graphical advancement than the console, but the console has a more advanced library of games. What's your take on this? Do you think this whole debate should even exist and if it does deserve it, then which side do you support?

I guess both devices are different and can be used for the same thing(pcs can do console stuff) and so people want to compare and find the best and worse parts of both.

This debate is useful when people are trying to buy a system they want to play games on. They want to compare pros and cons about every system (consoles and PCs) and i think that therefore the debate should exist. I don't stand on any side of the argument, because I know the cons and the pros of both, consoles and PCs, so I own both of them so I have just pros without any cons :D

Well, it's a rather easy decision. If you want to game only, you're obviously going to buy a console, but now a days, people buy a PC for other reasons before they buy a console, so...

People enjoy arguing for the sake of it. Consoles are made for gaming although they are gradually turning into social media machines (stupid if you ask me, completely moving away from their main function) Computers can be used for much, much more.

Yeah I hear around that you can do a lot related to social networks on your consoles too, now a days. I guess they realized gaming will not suffice them so they have to make it look more like a computer such as internet access, etc.

Because of the higher quality of PC games. If they would just concede there would be no arguments. ;)

It has always been a thing and will always be the thing. There is not much we can do about it. The best thing is to steer clear of any such arguments as they don't make much sense to me.

I think it's just because people like to have something to debate about. I hope most of them take it as seriously and they probably don't. Healthy discussion is good for improving both sides, but when it gets too extreme it's never a pretty sight.

That's true. Debating and exchanging opinions and life experiences is very important and healthy when done correctly and moderated. This is just another debate topic that is impossible to avoid.

I never understood it too much either. They're both great gaming system and people should appreciate that they actually own them.

Yup, definitely. I'm guessing the discussions on the advantages of both at least contributed to some of the additions on each platform in many ways, so it should really be welcomed, in my opinion.

You know "wars" between Apple and Samsung? Well pc vs console gaming is almost a same thing. There are many opinions and everyone prefer pc or a console
I think you could honestly express it down to a simple PC gaming is more customizable but a bit more expensive.
Console gaming is a bit cheaper and easier but is more of a our way or the highway kind of experience.
Personally I prefer gaming on a computer.

Yeah I think people just identify too much with their favored brands and I don't really get it. It's not like those big companies really care about their customers besides for their money anyway.

I guess, yes. Enterprises must have taken debates about the matter in consideration so they can know what their product is missing in order to beat the concurrence. After all, that's how consoles have internet access and such things now a days.

Yeah I think it is visible in their final product that they do take their competition into consideration when designing their consoles since they pretty much are able to integrate all other features from their competition to make for the most well rounded product possible.

The debates between PC and console exist because most people can't afford to have both. They then will debate the pros and cons of each system, which can be very productive. The bad thing is, is that it mostly delves mindless rage from a side (you know who you are), and then the debate stops be a debate, and begins to be a shouting match. I have my own opinion on the PC vs Console, I believe that the PC is far better than a console, because you can do gaming, and much, much more.

Apparently, the experience of both playing styles are quite different. I can't vouch for PC gaming much, because I don't play on PC, but I can tell there's quite a few differences in the experience.

They are both big screen experiences, and provides the user with a choice at being a gamer on a budget. Some folks just have to get a pc for work related stuff and browsing, so it might work out cheaper if you buy a pc. If you could play all the games on from a console smoothly on a pc and stick a couple of controllers in it, I think it would essentially be the same thing.

Consoles are great, and it is a much different experience than a pc, especially with the new exclusive games coming out this year to certain platforms. Someone who really likes gaming and has the cash for it would buy both. As for me, I would try and buy at least two consoles, if I had the moolah. For me the console is a gaming experience that I can share with my friends.

I agree 100%. There is nothing bad at comparing and pointing out the pros and cons of a certain thing. Quite the opposite, actually - we don't like an aspect of a game or a console/PC , we share it with other people and then the developers try to fix/improve those issues. It gets bad when, as you said, the discussion turns into an angry rant. I have a PC and I would love to try out the consoles someday, and even if they don't cover my expectations, I wouldn't go around yelling that PC is the best and there can be no other.
