I've often wondered when people praised either the Xbox or PS controllers, as I've never really liked them too much. I prefer having all my buttons in front of me, because I've never really had that much problems reaching any one of them in the first place. In fact, I have a lot more trouble and confusion reaching for them with all of my other fingers and would just rather use my thumbs as a majority. That said, I pick the Sega Saturn controller, or Sega Genesis second version controllers as my favorite. Just because the buttons are all up in front, and the directional buttons on these controllers are the best ever designed, in my opinion. Which is your favorite controller of all time?
The Dual Shock of course! I was very impressed with it when I first got my PlayStation. The dual analog sticks were a joy to use. It was very easy to get into analog controls very easily. Also, it has a rumble feature that made me feel every bump or blast happening in a game.
I have always loved my Xbox 360 controller despite being a PS3 lover. Yes, you can say I love Sony products, bt I love the controllers Microsoft produces. Having said that, I am really looking forward to the Steam Controller. They recently showcased how easily it worked with Portal 2 and Civilization 5. There is no doubt that Valve being a veteran in PC gaming industry ill do every justice to this controller.
I agree, the Xbox controllers are pretty nice. I just never understood why they didn't just make the batteries built in like in PS3's, but they were very comfortable to hold. As for Valve's controller, I can't wait to see it released too. It's certainly a weird concept, but I think playing it safe would have been much worse.
Well, I've only had the chance to use Playstation controllers, and they're essentially the same, so they are my favourite controllers. I've always found that the Xbox controllers looked weird and uncomfortable , with the left analog stick where the arrows (can't remember the proper name, sorry) are on a PS controller. I haven't used one though, so I'm probably wrong.
I've always been a fan of Nintendo's controllers. The GameCube is the single most comfortable controller I've ever used, and while I like that they change things up with each new console, I'm also disappointed that they didn't further the GameCube design. After that though, it's a close call between the Xbox 360 controller and, rather surprisingly, the Wii U gamepad.
My favorite controller would also be the Gamecube. It just felt like it fit my hand and everything was so easily accessible. I didn't have any other consoles at the time like the Xbox or the Playstation, so I can't really compare how they are. But I guess after hours of Smash Bros., you just get used to the Gamecube controller and it becomes like a part of you .
I like my xbox 360 controller the most because of the size of it. I have big hands so I like the fit.
The PS2 dualshock. That thing is simply awesome. Oh, I still love an old $3 cheap controller for I got for my Genesis back in the day even more. Nostalgia > Quality.
THe new Xbox 1 controller looks just brilliant. It is shiny, and better fitting tio the hands. Not only does it have bigger buttons for easy usage but for new gamers you can see the letters on the buttons easier. So if you want to teach a friends you dont have to have them strain their eyes.
I still haven't tried the X1 controller, but the 360 remains my favorite controller. The only thing I didn't like is the D-pd, and it seems like they improved it a lot for the X1 so I'm pretty excited about it.
I have a huge bias towards the 360 controller simply because it looks the coolest. I know, I know. Some legit reasons though include a better set of joysticks and trigger buttons, and the fact that it works out of the box with basically anything on PC. You just plug it in and everything is configured. I don't really "hate" the dualshock either, it's a fine controller. Plus it has a WAY better DPad than the 360. That said though, the next-gen controllers look atrocious.
My favorite controller would have to be the Xbox 360's. That controller looked the best, felt the best, and overall played the best compared to any other controller I have played with. I am a big fan of the PS3's controller, but it still lacks in size compared to the Xbox 360's.
The Xbox One controller is my favorite. I like how PS4s controller is thin and can recharge just by plugging in the usb. But My favorite controller before was the xbox 360 controller, and the Xbox One controller is even better. It's a little smaller, slicker, and has a nice design. Playstation controllers are good, but for me it's the thumbsticks right next to each other that I don't like.
If I had to choose them best controller that I have ever used to play video games in my life I would have to go with the Xbox 360 controller. Never have I played video games with a controller that felt so comfortable in my hands to play with. I like the PS3 controller, but honestly I put the Xbox 360 controller above all the rest hands down.
I really like the PS3 controller, but I also really like the Xbox 360 controller as well. I find it pretty hard to decide. I mean, both are pretty colorful with their buttons! I don't know which to pick for my favorite. Both just really appeal to me.
@burtpovski - Great point, I really like the colors of Xbox controllers as well. I honestly like the way Xbox controllers look a bit more not only because of the color but also the shape and size, but I really don't like that they don't have a built in battery.
The Playstation 2 controller.. HANDS DOWN.. The D-Pad is the best ever made and the analogue sticks imo are in a better spot.
