I played a game called "SportsCar GT" on the PS1 many years ago that had horrible graphics and horrible handling. I was a kid so I didn't really car, I mean a racing game was a racing game to me but looking back on it the graphics were pretty terrible.

What do people think about VRally? That had bearable graphics but the handling was simply atrocious. You tapped left on the controller and the car goes into a left hand spin. Horrible.

Hmm... actually no. I like good graphics as much as the next person, but I'm way more invested in a great story or interesting gameplay or just having fun with an entertaining game. I mean I've played broken games because of a good story, and I've played some seriously ugly games because they were hilarious or just mad fun. Graphics really aren't all that important to me.

@Susime I know what you mean as I recently have just played Need For Speed on PS1 and could not fathom how they ever got sequels. Looking back at the wealth they were able to produce on PS2, though, I'm really sure glad they did.

Yes! I will definitely play a game even though the graphics aren't similar to modern games. As long as the game that I am playing is fun and good, I could care less how good the graphics are.

If I play games with bad graphics these days I don't last too long. Games with bad graphics give me headaches and they just look really awful. I think that after being exposed to GTA 5 that I am spoiled when it comes to games having good graphics.

I dunno. Maybe I would play a game with bad graphics if the gameplay is good enough, but good graphics always adds to iimmersion.

It depends on the story. But there aren't really any games anymore with "bad" graphics. Games with average graphics and a good story I'll play. But it is more fun sometimes to play a game that's pretty. It's a tough one.

There's some games out there that don't have the best graphics but are still pretty fun! For example, Minecraft! The game that we all know and love. The graphics aren't terrible, but they aren't the best either. But the game play is still enjoyable. I read an article somewhere saying that Minecraft has sold over 4 million copies! That's pretty amazing for a game with block textured graphics.

@tdog6236 - Very good point. Even the most rushed and phoned in games nowadays have great graphics, besides a few that I've seen offered in OUYA but that's understandable since those games are made by only one or two people on a very limited budget.

I really like games with very good graphics, but if the graphics aren't the gratest and the gameplay is good, then I will play the game. When I play a game, graphic is a factor in my gaming experience, but not to that extent that I wouldn't play the game if I hear that it is good or if I think it is good. Nowadays there are less and less games that have bad graphics and I think that this is a win situation for all of us.

If some games are fun and generally just casual games to play with family and friends, I don't really mind the graphics of the game. If I'm playing seriously in competitive games such as Arma 3, I would want the graphics advantage to see my enemies clearer and have a clearer shot.

I would have to answer yes and no to this question. Before I bought my PlayStation 3 I was still playing games on my older PlayStation 2. When you play the PS3 for a good year and experience all the amazing graphics, it's incredibly hard to switch back to the PS2 for awhile. I could barely make out half of the scenery when I attempted playing my PS2, it was horrible so I just cut it off and switched right back to my PS3.

I never play games with bad graphics. The general look of the game I'm playing is quite important to me.

I think that now a days you can consider that GTA San Andreas has bad graphics, even though they're great for the time it was created, and I still play it on daily basis, online.

Personally, graphics don't really matter to me if the story is amazing.

Graphis matter but it really depends on the playability of the game. Look at mine craft with its blocky graphics. When I first got it I was like uggghhhh. But it is one of my favorite games to play when really bored. As long as it is fun to play I can look past bad graphics.

Yeah it's about the type of game too. When you're on a racing game, you want realism, good graphics, well looking cars, but in games like minecraft it doesn't really matter.

Yeah why not, bad graphics does not mean bad gameplay. I Minecraft is the best exapmle of that. I still keep NFS MW and though the graphics is not as good as NFS Rival, it sure is more fun. Some of the best games I have played are Indy games, that have minimal graphics. I guess its all about the story and the gameplay, if thats top notch, then no one can resist playing it. On the other hand, a game with really good graphics can be boring if has no story line and good game play. Take NFS for instance, the latest iterations look really good, but as far as gameplay is concerned, is not as awesome as before.

It depends. If the game doesn't really call for extreme graphics like Borderlands 2, Minecraft, or GTA, then I don't really care if the graphics are ultra realistic.
If we're talking about a game like Battlefield 4 or The Last of Us, or Forza/Gran Turismo, where the developer aims for a realistic look, then it does matter.
There's nothing worse than a game that aims for the ultra realistic feel but has graphics like Saints Row 3.
I think some people only care about graphics because they don't know anything about games.

These days I'm finding myself getting more and more spoiled as well. I can still play games with bad graphics but with the amount of options around I don't really choose to that much anymore.
