My favourite Zelda of all time is Ocarina of Time. My obsession with Zelda began with this and it is still a game I can play every time. What about you?
I have to concur with your choice. It's likely because they went from 2d to 3d and it just made Zelda's gaming world come to life.
Ocarina of Time is the best in my eyes. I've just started playing Twilight Princess, though. It might be my new favourite soon.
Well this makes 4 of us. It's the only Zelda I played consistently. I've had a go on a few others but never really liked them enough to buy it unlike OOT. The music in that was so addicting.
Zelda's gaming probably has the biggest impact because of Ocarina of Time. There is no specific Zelda series that I can think of at this moment.
It's gonna be unanimous, lol. Ocarina of Time is just the best that LoZ has to offer. That could of course just be a nostalgia bias on our parts, given that we went from 2d to 3d, as was mentioned. But the gameplay itself was just the most fun I've had playing a LoZ game. Wind Waker and Skyward Sword were two nice installations in the series though.
Ocarina was my favorite until I played and completed Skyward Sword. Twilight just couldn't keep me interested enough to finish the game, despite the fact that it was great. But Skyward Sword was one of the best games of 2011, and one of my favorites.
Twilight Princess was a good game but it couldn't keep me interested, and Ocarina of Time's difficulty in puzzles just skyrocketed and overwhelmed me when Link became an adult. The great one for me was Phantom Hourglass, since it was pretty fun and it wasn't too difficult, though admittedly, that deviates from the whole reputation of the Legend of Zelda.
OoT was great, but Wind Waker was definitely my favourite. Great memories of playing it. And Phantom Hourglass was wonderful, I was obsessed with that when I got it - couldn't put my DS down for a week.
So? It was just stylised, all of the Zeldas change in style. Some more drastically than others. The gameplay was still there. It didn't suddenly make it a kids game.
No, but it took something from the atmosphere. At least for me. The Zelda titles always had something "cute" and funny but Wind Waker just looked too light-hearted.
Eh, I didn't find that it was too light-hearted, but I do see what you mean about the atmosphere being different. OoT was very, very creepy.
I enjoyed playing Skyward Sword, a great game with amazing combat mechanics. The graphics were also beautiful and the plot was well crafted. I tried Majora's Mask but the game was really dark in tone. It scared a bit, considering that I was a kid. Skyward Sword was a delight to play and I'm going to try to play Wind Waker next.
I loved playing Zelda, however I never actually owned one. My cousin however had almost all of them. The one I know she liked the most out of all them was probably the windwaker one, if that is the one with the guy with the mask.
