Just like the tittle suggests I was wondering could you consider GTA series a racing one? Okay let's not talk about the first several game that came out, but I mean you can see that starting from SA GTA start focusing more and more on cars and racing. What do you guys think?
It's a good question, as there are a lot of racing elements to GTA. GTA V especially has a lot of racing missions and events. Online, there are dozens of different races and missions you can do. A lot of the game requires you drive around too, but I'm undecided on this.
Most people consider GTA to be a sandbox action adventure game with a lot of driving elements. Though it does have a lot of driving, people never considered it as a racing game. Imagine if it would be in direct competition with Gran Turismo, Forza and Need for Speed. That would be awkward won't it? Still, there are portions in the game where you could compete in races. But taking the game as a whole, I cannot consider it as a racing game.
Of course, no. It's not a racing game. Just because you have the freedom to race and run any vehicle, it doesn't make it a racing game. Yes, you can drive in GTA V and it's actually really fun, but t's far from what a racing game should be. I do like to race every once in a whole though.
Racing is more of a feature of the game, rather than the actual genre of the game. It'd be like calling Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks a train simulation game. You just can't. You've lost your ability toucan. ba dum tss
I don't think you could really consider this a racing game. Even though in the game, you can drive a car, and do whatever you want while driving. It's more of "just have fun driving around" type of game instead of an actual racing game. So the answer is no. For a racing game, you always need a start and a finish. As for Grand Theft Auto driving, it could basically be an endless driving around game!! I'm sure people may have thought about the same question you asked. But GTA is far from being a racing game.
No and here's why, most of the racing portions in the game aren't required for the most part, unless you want to complete it 100%. So no it's not a racing game. It's an action adventure game with racing and other modes tacked on to it.
It's a car game more than it's a racing game. There is many racing portions in GTA games, but I wouldn't consider it anywhere near a racing game. It's got more to do with crime, killing, stealing and all that. It's an adventure sandbox game, a really good adventure sandbox game, with racing and other pastimes added in.
I feel like racing has been more implemented into the newer GTA games but that's only because street racing is a sort of crime in itself. The game focuses on pretty much breaking as many laws as you can, not racing and getting better cars which is basically the definition of racing games for me. Racing is more like a minigame bonus than the goal of the game.
Ermm i wouldn't say so as its a all round open world game if GTA counts as a racing game couldn't Red Dead? because you race with horses? same as cars but a different kind of vehicle.
Actually, in a way it is, exactly in the same way that its a shooter game and and flying jets simulator. I say this because you can do all those things in free roam and therefore have the freedom into making it whatever type of game you want. As for me, robbing stores seems so much more fun!
I don't see it that way. You can definitely create races with your friends, but that's not the true point of the game. There's so many more things to do besides race.
It could probably be described as a sandbox game with a significant amount of racing aspect to it. It's hard to think of GTA and only remember racing, because when I think of that game my mind immediately goes to describing it as the game where you shoot and run over people.
