There are a lot of good titles this year, The Witcher 3, Fallout 4 and Star Wars Battlefront to name a few. Do you think JC3 has a shot at those awards considering the competition they have to face?
I don't think the series is too widely known or has a big enough following for it to achieve a game of the year award. It looks good though and I'm looking forward to playing it.
Well, maybe the gameplay will make it so they get into the list of the best games of the year even though the series is not that common. I can see where you're coming from, but there might still be hope.
Yeah the doubters could always be proven wrong. Things like that have happened a lot in the past after all.
What can be a deciding factor is the various sites that award this prize. Every company has different tastes, so depending on who publishes the list of competitors we might be able to see this game after all.
If it makes a big enough impression I can see how that can happen. Even with the tons of options we have these days the best ones still eventually rise to the top via word of mouth.
I guess.. I also heard rumors about a movie for this game - maybe if they make it really well and doesn't turn into a flop it could really turn into a great hype generator for the franchise.
Just Cause 3 definitely has a chance, but with all the other major games coming out such as Deus Ex and Falllout 4 it would be overshadowed. I'm not saying it's a bad game, it's just that better, bigger, more advertised games are coming out at the same time.
2015 was a big year and I think JC3 was only a small part of it. Some people think the game mechanics are a bit goofy and the game series does have its flaws.
JC3 was one of the wildest games I've ever played. It was like GTA on steroids. The replay value though isn't that great so I wouldn't think game of the year; however, it's very fun to dip into once in a while just for the sheer ridiculousness of it all.
