Well, I know this is a pretty weird question since the franchise has been getting a lot of praise but do you think Rockstar are getting too ahead of themselves? Maybe with all the good reputation they got they'll flop on the next release, although that's pretty extreme to think about.
I do because they really haven't given me much reason to doubt them so far. Even their non GTA titles have always gotten good reviews and personally what I trust most about them is that their games always have a soul to them so I trust they know what keeps them successful since they have been able to sustain it for so long.
There is no question of trust as it's pretty much common knowledge that any major GTA release by Rockstar will be amazing. Say what you will about the time it takes for each major release to come, but what they do, they do it seriously well.
I don't think anyone cares that much about the release time! When you're talking about games as massive as the GTA ones there's no doubt it takes an enormous developer team to build it, and I'm sure it takes a long time to polish it and brainstorm ideas.
GTA reminds me of what games like COD or BattleField should be. A great story which means a single story game that actually is cool and makes sense. Both of those games fails on those fronts and people purely love them for online play.
That's what I love about Rockstar though. They do their work before they release something. The only time I've noticed them to not do that was with the infamous swing glitch of IV which turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
I don't recall that swing glitch, it didn't occur to me when I was playing GTA IV. Maybe I was dumb but.. what it was about?
This video should show everything you need to know It was basically a glitch with the swings where if you got too close or rested against them they would go crazy and often throw you quite a distance. The glitch was present in the console version of the game and the PC version. Thankfully Rockstar didn't fix the glitch with patch, but I must say that I'm disappointed that there is at least no reference to it in V.
Oh yeah, I remember this one. It was a blessing in disguise, as you said - it helped tremendously when I was trying to get away from a lot of cops, although you often failed and died because it threw you in a bad spot.
"it helped tremendously when I was trying to get away from a lot of cops," That seriously made me laugh out loud! I've just got images of cops all around you, you rest the car against the swing and just before it launches you you say "so long suckas"!
That's how it was, really. Haha, the only pain in the butt were the helicopters. No matter how far away I would get thrown they would be there in a jiffy, pretty annoying to escape them.
I trust them with it 100%. Every GTA game I've played has been incredibly fun and GTAV was no exception. I really see no reason to doubt GTAVI will be good.
I completely agree. So far they have shown nothing but pure competence in their vision and execution so there really is not much reason for me to doubt them when they have such a good track record.
Really could not have said it better. Anyone who is doubting them only has to look at the success of the GTA series to have their doubt laid to rest. The next GTA will deliver.
I trust them only because they're the only ones who can make the game we're all expecting. However, their latest business practices kinda make me want to say "screw them" and stick to GTA IV and GTA V. Still, I know that I'll be the first one to preorder GTA VI as soon as it'll be available. xD
You and me both! I wonder though what sort of special edition they will bring out and what sort of content it will include.
I have been very fond of Rockstar's handling of the game, I would be very happy if they were to continue on to develop GTA IV. Compare that to other longstanding game series such as Call of Duty, which have suffered from declining quality with developers constantly changing hands. Consistency is usually a good thing when it comes to developers.
Very good point. Some developers take consistency too far and just don't innovate enough with their later versions but with Rockstar they always add a lot but somehow maintain the consistent theme and atmosphere of the game.
I think we can trust Rockstar to deliver. Every addition to the Grand Theft Auto series has only gotten better. Surely, we will be expecting some changes in GTA VI, but I don't believe it will be anything that will ruin the game or change what's been consistent with the GTA games. GTA V is amazing, and I'm sure that GTA VI will be on par, if not exceedingly better.
