Where are some good spots you go to when you want to snipe people from long range either offline or online? Do you have a favourite place you go to? I've tried a lot of places to try and hold up and snipe people from long range but end up always being hassled by the helicopters and taken out by the SWAT teams who abseil nearby. The best place I have found so far is on one of the container cranes at the docks. They are quite high so you have a good view to snipe from and the police helicopters do fly around, but they have a hard time hitting you.
Offline, the blimp. I'm just kidding. That's not a great spot. I just climb on top of buildings and take people out while trying to avoid SWAT and other players.
As far as the helicopters are concerned, you just have to hit them with a homing rocket as soon as they come around. It's a little challenging to do if someone else is trying to kill you, though.
Just get a helicopter and grab on top of the high skyscrapers in the city. There are plenty of those, so you have a lot to choose from.
I've started sniping at the rear rotors of them with the heavy sniper rifle. If you can get it right it makes for a great show as the helicopter goes down with the crew flying out of it I've had a go from the very high buildings but from they height you're at pedestrians don't spawn below you, as far as I can se anyway. I've had a go at using the lower portion of roofs where the LSC is in the middle of the city and that's working out good so far. Sure there are copters but like with the cranes they have a difficult time hitting you.
Some of the buildings let you see pedestrians down there. At least on the PC version, with rendering distance set at the highest, they do.
Ahh the drawbacks of having it on a console. What's the highest building you can see pedestrians from on the PC version?
I only tried the Schlongsberg Sachs Building, and it worked. As for platform discussion, don't you worry: PC Online is pretty much unplayable because of the hackers.
Hackers? Are they using stuff similar to the sobeit mod that was used on VC & SA? I doubt my PC would be able to handle GTA V anyway. It's a pretty high spec machine but even with IV it has moments where it stutters slightly.
Some buildings are low enough to be good sniping areas and some bridges are good too as long as you don't mind being too easily accessible to cops once the heat comes on. Rooftops are still the best because it takes a while for cops to get to you.
On top of the buildings of course but sniping is not my type. I don't like camping and I prefer to run around killing people than to stay on one spot.
Yeah the rooftops are nice but when the heat comes you quickly get over-run by the helicopters most of all. If you snipe high up you need somewhere where the helicopters have a hard time getting at you
True. I like the helicopter sometimes since I like shooting missiles at them when they arrive but if I'm just in it for the sniping then it's better to be somewhere more discreet.
I've taken to trying to take out the rear rotor on the helicopters with the heavy sniper rifle. Once you hit it you're in for a funny show of the helicopter spinning out of control and crashing to the ground while the crew get flung around.
I mostly climb to the biggest building nearby and since I play on the PC version I have no problem in seeing the pedestrians from up there. I never kept in mind a certain spot.
Yeah after a while you get used to everything and the game gets a bit repetitive but with a game like this where you are free to do everything and the environment is very detailed you could even choose the method of how you want helicopters to fall.
Very true. I must admit that my methods of killing people have taken a creative turn somewhat. I die quicker, but seeing a group of cops being thrown from the blast of a propane tank makes it worth while. Have you tried to hit the helicopters with a molotove yet? How about a sticky bomb? Or even a proximity mine, that would be interesting to see.
I haven't tried Molotov as I always just stick to rocket launchers but yeah maybe I'll do that since it does help in changing up the routine. I also like finding new spots from time to time just to see if it will be a better spot than the last.
Yeah it's always good to change around the weapons or the spots you go to now and again. It keeps things fresh. Last night I had a go at seeing how long I could survive by just going on foot and using only that small pistol you can get from Ammunation. I lasted a surprisingly longer time than I thought.
Lol yeah it's one of the best things about this game is that even when you get tired of it you could always just switch it up and make your own rules since the world is so open and detailed that the variables are so abundant.
