I don't think a story mode would be relevant to the game, after all it's a title that focuses on cars rather than the other aspects. It's better to leave it the way it is and just improve on everything.

Agreed. There are some racing games that benefit from a good story, like in the older NFS games where you were moving up the ranks of the racing circuit, but for the most part, stories can be ignored and the experience will still be roughly the same.

I cannot see a story mode working in the next Gran Turismo so I'd say no.

The Gran Turismo format has pretty much been set in stone and everyone knows what it's about and what to expect. Changing it now would cause quite a shockwave to things

Yeah it's much more just a straight up racing game and I think the fans like it for what it is. I think these games sell more due to the cars.

As much as I would love a story mode, what would it be about? It's a racing game, and a game built around racing is very limited in terms of video game freedom. Can't really make an open sandbox world out of it like GTA, because that would mean gameplay other than racing cars would be needed to make the game entertaining enough. Right now it's just gonna be one race after another, you win upgrades and cash if you win, and you can use those to improve your car until it becomes so overpowered you get to finish each race at 1st place without even trying. Sounds boring, am I right?

I don't think you'll be able to walk around with a character and all that. But they can improve the story mode, maybe make it even more interactive, where you can make decisions to change the storytelling.

A story mode is a good start but there needs to be more added to Gran Turismo to make it appeal to gamers that haven't played Gran Turismo before. Gran Turismo suffers from the same problem games like Need For Speed and Assassin's Creed among others suffer from and that is repetition. They keep putting out yearly releases with slightly better graphics and minor tweaks in a slightly different setting and call it a new game. When in fact, the successive games haven't really added any unique features to make it a noteworthy release.

I don't really care for story in racing games. Especially if it's done badly, which it most often is. If they do decide to add story in future games, it better be decent. I'm not sure I could handle NFS levels of cheese anymore.

I agree. The recent NFS storylines are so cringeworthy it's not even funny. The story doesn't really draw you in at all. Instead, it makes you want to smash your controller to pieces because you can believe you bought this garbage.

Yeah, the stories and acting were hilariously cheesy. The sort of stuff you wouldn't want your family or friends to see lol. It didn't make me rage or anything, and I still enjoyed the games just fine. But why add a story if you're not going to do it decently ? I'm just fine with having a normal career mode.

Underground, Underground 2 and Most Wanted were very good scripts for me. Carbon was above average but not as great as the previously mentioned titles. Every NFS game after that had some extremely cheesy and uninteresting storylines.

It be awesome and more entairtaining if GT has a story mode. Some players get bored easily when they maximized already. It be better that we also looking forward to a story.

It would definitely add life and personality to an otherwise repetitive franchise. As I have said many times that ever since Gran Turismo two, the franchise has suffered from a lack of innovation or evolution for that matter. They keep releasing the same game with slightly updated graphics and more cars.

I am not sure I want Grand Turismo 6 to be like Final Fantasy 15 though, a RPG game, which features vehicle travel and camping, as well as playable characters. But then again it might not be a bad idea to have some characters like Noctis in it, like Final Fantasy 15 does?
