I've often heard people say GTA is not a story-driven series. I say what? The game would get a bit old if there were no story and just rampaging. A bit part of what gives the series life is its vibrant characters, and even if the story isn't original at least having something to advance as you open up more and more of the map. If a GTA game had the best gameplay mechanics of all time, and a crappy uninspired story with bland characters - the game would definitely suffer a lot in my book. What do you guys think? The singleplayer campaign for all the GTA games have always been amazing. Not once have I ever been disappointed with the story that has been created by Rockstar. The game would be so boring without a story first that helped you explore the different parts of the game
Well, i believe that GTA started of as a non-Story-Driven game, but now, in GTA IV and GTA V The story has become a very big and important part of the game.
The story is fascinating, I think, but I always get lost in the middle. As long as I understand what I need to do to complete a mission I don't bother following the story.
Well yes, GTA is not a story-driven game, but the stories in it are fairly good. I really liked the story in GTA 5 where it mocks capitalism. The storyline in the GTA games is a big plus along with the great gameplay and graphics.
I love its story as the story tells a lot about the mission of the game. The intro is just for the introduction of the game. I always use to consider the story before playing any game. The story is an important part of GTA. I don't know why people don't care about it.
Story is important when we lay this game for the first time. I think that features and the graphics are the most important factor in the game. I do care about the story but it is not that much important than game itself.
Storylines are important in a game as it describes the whole game features. You can have idea of playing a game by gameplays but fit is important to understand the story to complete the mission.
Single player campaign is definitely what defines the game and series as a whole Rockstar does a good job making the story for it. I do think though that GTA while having a good story there are more parts to the game than that. Such as multiplayer know and just roaming around makes up most of the game besides the single player campaign. That being said the story still is drives the game to be good.
I really do not care about the in GTA games but it feels good to know about the story. It is a good way to attract people toward the game. I think it is easy to understand the mission by looking at the story.
I think the reason stems from the fact that, the gameplay isn't directly influenced by the story. The gameplay is most people's concern not it's advancement or vibrant nature of the characters. Although the latter influences the gameplay in anyway, one doesn't need to know the story-line to be able to complete a mission: just know the tricks and you are good to go!! What do you think??
I really like the stories in the GTA series, especially in the new one. It is true that the game is not a story-driven game, but that doesn't mean there is no story. They also make sure to have everything in place so the game would be playable. If the game had no story, then no one would really want to replay it, because it's not fun to just drive around and shoot at people.
I agree that GTA needs to have a decent story and characters, it's not a parody like Saints Row after all. Just rampaging and killing peds would get very boring very fast
Even Saints Row had an interesting story in my opinion. There were a lot of lovable characters and scenes that made me giggle. But GTA is much more serious that Saints Row and that is the way it's intended to be.
Well, I can't confirm or deny anything about the story and characters, since I've never played a Saints Row game. But that would be the last thing on my mind if I was thinking about buying one, since I wouldn't be able to take the story seriously.
