GTA 5 is an insanely beloved game that has captivated the hearts of both hardcore and new GTA fans. Through amazingly detailed graphics, well written storylines, and incredibly realistic gameplay, GTA 5 has garnered awards all over the globe. But what parts did it seem weak in? And is there something from the classic GTA San Andreas that you may even say is still better than its GTA 5 counterpart?
I miss the gang fights and fast food places that you could enter in San Andreas. Apart from that, I feel like GTA V surpasses San Andreas overall. I loved GTA San Andreas but I think V is an amazing achievement that raised the bar for action/racing/crime games.
The whole 'hood' aspect of San Andreas over-shines GTA V by a wide margin. I loved that whole in the ghetto type gangster feel of San Andreas and it was only a small part or region of GTA V.
I liked the feature of training the characters physical fitness and adding muscle/fat to the character to make him look unique.
For me, the history is better, I liked it way more because I could relate to it. The missions were also really new to the time, and there were a lot of new things. You need to understand the context in order to realize why san andreas was better, and one of the best games of all time.
San Andreas has that hood feel that got me addicted to the series, with all the gangs and wars going on. GTA V lacks in that department quite badly, one of the main reasons it's not a 10/10 game for me.
The gang wars and the way you could change CJ's appearance by exercising are two things I loved about San Andreas that I wish GTAV had. Granted, the fitness thing could have been implemented better in San Andreas, but it could have been great in V.
They really focused on the hood aspect in San Andreas which I thought was really cool. It still exists in GTA V just not as much. They still have the grove street, or at least a representation of it, but I feel the whole game had a much darker vibe. I also thought the missions were actually more fun too. In GTA V it seems like you are driving halfway across the map just to complete on small thing. The voice acting in San Andreas I also thought was tops.
I agree with some of the posts here that the gangs aspect of the old game was great. I never played it myself but I watched my friends run through it a lot of times and it was always very fun even though it's not my favorite version.
First of all I don't like the character change-ups in GTA 5. I felt the story was all over the place from having to switch to different characters constantly. The graphics were quite nice though and colors vere really vivid. San Andreas had more of an addictive story-line with other stuff you could also do when you wanted to take a break from the missions which was great. I also loved the setting. GTA 5 really just seemed to be lacking in their story-line. Just my opinion !
I preferred story in San Andreas and the fact that there was only one protagonist. Other than that, I can't think of anything. I definitely don't miss gang wars, they were more tedious than fun. EDIT: I actually prefer San Andreas' soundtrack, and by a great deal. Can't believe I forgot about that.
Well San Andreas is a classic and i still love to play it. I think what makes San Andreas differ is the cheats lol... GTA5 is a powerful game and the most advance graphics i have seen since the first GTA. It's just that San Andreas and Vice City a memorable version because of most players starts with these two classics.
San Andreas allowed your character to workout thereby increasing melee damage. Using cheats in San Andreas was fun and really added to the experience while GTA V severely punishes you for using cheats. Otherwise, GTA V is better in many other aspects.
In San Andreas, they had a jetpack to fly around like James Bond in "Never say Never again." You don't get those in GTA V.
No flying cars/bikes or orbital cannons. To be honest, I can't tell if I am playing GTA or Saints Row anymore. Soon we will be getting the Power Rangers Megazord in a DLC at the rate Rockstar is going.
GTA San Andreas in my opinion is better than GTA V in a lot of ways. In San Andreas, the fighting is much more fun. CJ can learn to fighting moves like boxing in gyms, and personal trainers, Kung Fu in San Fierro and Kickboxing in Las Venturas. Fighting in GTA V is repetitive for Franklyn and really boring. Sometimes Franklyn can knock people out with one punch, which really takes the kick out of fighting. CJ can also gain muscle and get fat while in GTA V Franklyn can't work out despite work out materials being present in the game. In GTA San Andreas, CJ can become a fire fighter or an ambulance driver for cash and other side missions as well. In GTA V, there are no such missions, which again takes the fun out of it. In GTA San Andreas, there are so many accessible interiors like police stations, casinos, clothing stores, restaurants, gyms and convenience stores among others while GTA V has far less accessible interiors.
One of the weaker aspects of Grand Theft Auto 5 is its gunplay. Compared to games like Halo or Gears of War, the shooting mechanics feel a bit clunky and dated. Additionally, some missions can feel repetitive and tedious, especially those that involve driving from point A to point B. However, these weaknesses are minor in comparison to GTA 5's many strengths. The game is incredibly immersive and entertaining, with vast open worlds to explore and tons of things to do. The storylines are well written and kept players hooked for hours on end. Overall, GTA 5 is an outstanding game that no fan should miss.
